Stocks are all about the capital available and the implied risk taken.
- Feds91Stammer

That's a bit oversimplified, but those are part of the equation. I don't day trade. I look at the long-term, so I really pay attention the debt ratio, what they do with their RE and their future plans to grow the company.

My understand was that cannabis stocks are poop, but I also don’t follow this stuff. I don’t know why people would trade in individual stocks when you can just invest in ETFs and be about a million times better off with zero of the stress.
- Victoro311

I invest in individual stocks for the dividend. Utility, energy and communications give good divies. They lack growth but pay a solid quarterly check.

So you think guys should get a clean slate and I don't. We're at an impasse.

As I said, I'll make my judgements coming in, but the player can change them if he plays well. Anyone should update their opinions as more happens. But you shouldn't ignore what's already happened either.

- Tojo.

It's easier to give someone a clean slate when they actually possess some skills. Like when Schultz came here. I remember someone on TSN calling him the worst player in the NHL. It's not a JJ situation.

I'm in total agreement about the risk on MM. Ridiculous leap of faith considering the contract.

Players like JJ however...

Yeah I just mean for the average investor. Going into something like mutual funds is a lot more palatable. Say 50% into a large cap fund. 25% into a pharmaceutical fund. 25% into a tech fund. I’ve held multiple FINRA licenses and used to be a securities principal.

ETF's for the most part just give tepid growth, Buying and selling stocks isn't that stressful

I've made about 15k this year trading Amazon alone since September, 10 shares at a time. Just buying when it hit anywhere sub $3100 and selling when it hit in the $3250-$3300 range a few days later, then buying it back in the dip, with only about 35k in play

Been doing the same with Tesla lately, buying around $800 and selling when its around $850

Blue chip stocks in the dips on red days and sell when they bounce back. They always seem to recover, so the risk is low

- TheGame316

Yeah I can definitely see how day trading exclusively S&P 500 companies is pretty dang safe. I just don't have the cash flow to do so. The amount of blue chip stocks I would be able to buy with the amount of money I set aside each month for post-tax investment would not be worth it.

I was looking for signs that MM was going to simplify his game to mitigate his turnover issues and he's shown zero sign of that happening. Everyone knew he'd be able to contribute offensively, but he's a mess with turnovers and that hasn't stopped.

He's guilty at turning over the puck in very specific situations like when he was the puck at the point and anyone who's watched has seen that hasn't stopped one bit.

Look at some of the cannabis ETFs. There's a couple I really like and recently put some cash into. AdvisorShares Pure Cannabis ETF, Horizons US Marijuana Index ETF and The Cannabis ETF.

He was pretty good last game. Pretty good this game so far. First two games were rough....then he got hurt.

I'm not saying I expect great things, but he does possess some skills of an NHL player. I'm a fan of the Pens. I'm going to hope he doesn't completely fall on his face 'cause we're stuck with him.

My favorite cheap pot stock is Aurora Cannabis. I bought it a year ago at like $4 and now it's trading around $13. It went up to $20 this week and went back down to around $13, but it's a solid company that I really believe will really blow up in a few years.

I would love for him to improve so he's easier to move. Regardless his contract is unnecessary. I don't want him over Petts or Dumo, and certainly not blocking POJ.

What happens when the cannabis market becomes over saturated?

I don't know what that is, I've heard of it, no idea how to play that game. Strictly long transactions.

I am taking risks in 3D printing and electric vehicle plays. Much smaller risks in cannibus and psilocybin.

From the small amount of research I've done it seems to be a logistics issue that's keeping the legal cannabis business from the major growth required to be a worthwhile investment.

Well that and the more legalization we get across the country the more competition will pop up. Not saying it’s not a decent investment but I wouldn’t necessarily expect it to explode.

That’s the main risk imo but I’m sure you’re plenty diversified to mitigate that risk.

Yeah, you have to be IMO. I'm pretty risk-adverse though when it comes to investing.
