That's the point. No team will make a fair offer so why trade Bertuzzi? Yzerman will trade a few players at the deadline to teams looking for rentals. But Bertuzzi won't be part of it. He's in his prime right now. Red Wings need to add top 6 forward talent. Not trade it away for pennies on the dollar.

Leafs won't get Bertuzzi. Dubas would lowball Yzerman and Yzerman would hang the phone up. Leafs will get someone at the trade deadline though. Bobby Ryan is a more realistic target. Top 6 forward with a dirt cheap $1 mil cap hit and he's a UFA. 2nd round pick is the most likely cost unless there's a bidding war.

Hate to see Friedman get into this cheap stuff. Who the hell knows what the top 6 is going to look like or need two months out. Is Robertson playing up and playing great? What are Mik, Thornton doing? It’s crazy to guarantee that that’s the need they’re going to need to address at the TDL.

What cheap stuff? Thornton, Robertson, Mikheyev are awesome depth 3rd liners but they aren't top 6 forwards.

Robertson is 19 and looks like he will take some time to translate his talent to the NHL.

Dubas has the prospect pool to do it...and its likely someone with a value contract which they could absolutely use.

I think most people are happy with the amount of bottom 6 forwards the Leafs have...plenty can step in and also play on the 2nd PP.

Someone that can play on a cheap contract this run and the next...They are ready to make a move like that.
