Can't be that bad if 4 out of the top 10 teams in the league are from the Canadian Division.
1 Leafs
6 Montreal
7 Edmonton
9 Winnipeg
We're #1, how fu3king sweet is that. - Barb34

Give her time, shes new.
They're trying to bring more women onto the scene to help with diversity and to grow the game.
Its just cringe when men feel the need to criticize women.
Last night it was "Cassie Campbell is wearing too much makeup"
like, (frank) off you ugly mutt. - Arctic_AARDVARK

He seems to be very likeable (one of the most likeable players on this team in fact) but being nice doesn't win you Stanley Cups.
re the numbers above -- small sample size? yes.
does it show a trend though? yes as well.
he's been equally bad in deciding games with Ducks as with Leafs - seems he just crumbles under pressure. (or he is one extremely unlucky goaltender). |

Why is it that every time theres a woman in the spotlight, she gets criticized on here?
Shilton, Campbell, and now Nurse?
Maybe you're just uncomfortable with a woman in a traditionally male role? Even if you're just saying what you think, thats maybe one opinion you might want to keep to yourself. - Arctic_AARDVARK
why exactly are you making this a men vs women discussion?
the initial comment was 'i don't like sarah in this particular role'.
it wasn't 'women should be banned from any sports related roles'.
only the unqualified or people not willing to put in effort would argue to set the bar lower for women - women are perfectly able to do things as well as men. |

Just realized there is on other option on wing that would work really well for the Leafs to add for the playoffs:
Kyle Palmieri.
Would be my #1 guess for the Leafs supposed 'target'. |

The story from Friedman makes no sense. He āguaranteesā that the Leafs are targeting a top 6 forward two months before the TDL. I seriously doubt that management has locked into that assessment. There are too many variables between now and then, including possible emergence of Robertson, play of Thornton or others on top line, defensive needs that could emerge.
Fine to speculate that they could make that kind of move but sad to see him go full Ek. Never go full Ek. |

addign a true #2LW/RW is definitely something that would make most sense and is actually feasible. (adding a topline D for example much more of a stretch).
#2winger and a #3C - probably only positions leafs are looking at to upgrade. |

Just like that leafs open up a 5 point gap on mtl.
Leafs have done a really good job of winning their games in regulation too. Making them the full 4 point swing. |

Who (frank)ing cares. It gets us to semifinals. Anything can happen from there and when was the last playoff round win? - Canada Cup
I (frank)ing care? The playoffs are a different beast than the regular season.
I'm certainly not counting on a cake walk to the semi-final. Or even, necessarily, that the Buds even make it there. |

They are a deeply flawed and beatable team. Really that they won against a virtually complete squadron like the Habs is a once in a season occurrence, at most. - TheMussel

The point was about playing in a weak division. By definition that makes getting to and performing well in the the playoffs easier. Having an easier path to the semifinals for a team that hasnāt made it out of the first round should be a good thing.
Iād much rather be in a division we have a good shots to win rather one where weāre destined to finish behind Boston and TBL and starting the first round against a much tougher opponent.
If we do make it out of the division, anything can happen.
Nice things about truisms like playoffs are different is that theyāre, well true. But different or not, I like the possible trajectory of this division more than what weāve faced in the past. |

Itās certainly possible that this will be the priority at the TDL. For a guy like Friedman to guarantee it is silly. Who knows what kinds of rentals might be available. Maybe we could pick up that Tyson Barrie guy from the Oilers. |

I don't think there's been enough appreciation of how magically delicious it was when Justin Holl beat $10 Million man Price clean with an unscreened point shot yesterday. - Zezel

the guarantee part is maybe linked to some info on talks that have already started?
so a guarantee that leafs are looking at a specific player.. (not a guarantee that they will definitely get him).
would have to be with a team that is very unlikely already at this point to make the playoffs (ottawa, detroit, la, sj).
LA would make sense due to previous trades between both teams. I like Wagner - but Leafs would probably be looking at a player with some more experience (Iafallo?). Wouldn't it be great if Leafs end up adding Marleau again?

yes, 100% the same.
(fyi -- woll at age 20/21 played 32 AHL games. Freddie didn't make it to the AHL until he was 24y old. it's stupid to make these kind of comparisons, but I can easily do it as well as you see) |

doesn't have like 5.25M cap hit?
how will the Leafs fit him in?
and Nylander isn't being traded. |

You said he would be the Leafs starting goalie this year, I assumed those stats were your supporting argument for that?? no? |

If I remember well, considering the roster beginning of the season, Leafs were projected to be able to add a player at deadline with a caphit (full season) of around 4.5mln. Palmieri has a caphit of 4.65mln.
Not sure what the impact of injuries etc. has been -- but seems it potentially could work, in particular if they would move a roster player in a trade. |

I actually watched Woll play some games before getting drafted. (that statement is from around the time he was drafted). |
