I’m pretty sure a ntc has no affect in terms of expansion and only nmc must be protected.
- 10inchTerror

Thanks. No idea what the rules all are. For some reason I thought guys with NTCs were also protected.

I disagree, I think he would have been playing just like that. Horny is a dude who brings it every shift.
- j.boyd919

Yea he does bring it every shift, so I'll back pedal a bit and say I don't think his shooting percentage would be what it is now if he were here. I haven't watched the Panthers play so I'm not sure if it's him getting lots rebounds or if he's just shooting it. Because he wouldn't be getting many rebounds here to start the season.

Sports fandom is about trying to predict the future now days. Fantasy sports culture is in control. No one can just be happy enjoying a team or players success, they have to make up stats to cancel out any happiness in just enjoying the sport.
- Grinder47

Some people find it fun to look at those stats and that's their thing and that's cool with me, but I don't personally care about them because I just don't/it's not my job to do so haha. I watch sports for fun and it's a getaway for a few hours. I (frank)ing hate when they talk about covid/masks/blm etc.. when I'm trying to get away from that crap. I just wanna watch the (frank)ing game.

For one he’s on the 2nd line with huberdeau and Wenberg. Second fla has the best PP in the nhl at 37% which is definitely in part horny. Neither their pp success or his point per game pace is sustainable but just like our bottom 6 at first, that could be the reason they are winning while they need it right now.

He def wouldn’t be able to replicate that success here with our 3/4th lines and our pp. although we would prob have a lg average pp and a couple more points if he were here still imo

I think the same goes with fleury. His success in Vegas probably isn’t replicable here due to the style in play and the quality of our defence atm. Not that I’m against him at all being here but I don’t see him being some miracle worker this year if he came here.

I agree with the first part, but not really the second part.

The best thing I ever did was stop playing fantasy sports. I enjoy sports so much more now.

2nd part, I enjoy watching every game, just because the Pens play poopty and win, doesn't mean I don't enjoy the win.

I agree that he doesn't make this team a contender alone, but he will win a heck of a lot more games than Jarry and Desmith right now.

Not to mention, I think you would see a transformation in the team with him back in the locker room. He might be the best locker room guy in league history, which is amazing because goalies are usually weirdos.

I dont really buy into this loyalty to keeping guys in Pittsburgh to retire Pens, but frankly, my list of priorities would have been:

Crosby
Fleury
Malkin
Kunitz
Horny
Letang

I agree he would be a big boost for sure. But I’m of the opinion of letting Sid geno and Letang retire here. Definitely not ideal for business but 🤷🏻‍♂️

Sid, Geno, and Guentzel won’t shoot 30% again and we don’t have Kessel anymore. That Cup run really broke people’s brains. A master class by the forwards covered up complete suckery by the defense and somehow what people took out of it was that we don’t need a 1D.
- Victoro311

You definitely don’t need a 1D. Look how good Detroit has been since Lidstrom retired.

To your last sentence, those kinds of wins most times are always the more emotional/exciting ones because they tend to need some sort of comeback. Whereas if they are playing a solid game and put up 6 goals it's like aight they got this game.

Idk nothing I like better than a blowout. I was at the Calgary game they won like 8-2 or something a few years ago. Loves it.

Yeah, he was my 2nd favorite to Geno in this era of Penguins. He was a gamer. Played his heart out every game and that's why I loved him. Players like that can be contagious in games, especially if their hard work shows up on the scoreboard. I understood the trading him but couldn't/can't stand the return haha.

Oh yeah, I enjoy watching them but that doesn't mean the team is primed for success if they are going to get runover every game and live in their zone haha. As a whole I find it more frustrating to watch a team that barely wins by the skin of it's teeth rather than a team that steamrolls it's opponents.

Oh I love blowouts as well. Been to a plenty. But it just doesn't compare to a comeback. One of my favorite games I've ever been to was 2008 Game 1 against the Rangers. We went down 3-0 and ended up making it 4-3(we scored back to back twice) then the Rags tied it back up and we eventually scored on a PP with a minute and change left to win. You probably remember the game haha. But my favorite game I've ever been to was Kunitz double it winner game 7. That was incredible.

Nice yeah I know both those games! Yeah the one downside of a pens blowout for me as I’m either in Edmonton, Calgary, or vancouver, so if Pitt is winning the atmosphere sucks and it’s just silence haha. Kuny’s double ot winner must of been crazy!
