It was. His movement to make the stop brought him out of position for the deflection and guys in front were able to dig it out.

The Leafs this year are doing a good job of keeping teams to the outside and limiting high-danger shots.

We as Leafs fans are having a very hard time recognizing it, because we’ve never seen it before.

Very sad. I stopped in Kenora a couple months ago on the way to Winnipeg to try finding him and help a bit. Apparently he’s now in Saskatchewan as the book brought too much attention to his “peace” in Lake of The Woods.
It’s -35 without the windchill last few mornings. He’s probably better off there. Hope he gets the help he needs.

No he was in a butterfly when the shot was taken and tried to get his pads back the other way when it was deflected. That left the puck vulnerable in his pads. Also Rielly let Tartar go

Because that’s where the original shot was going. The only issue was losing his upper body balance. It seems like he thought the first shot was going high. He seems to have hitched his shoulder up, bringing his weight both up and away and his momentum caused him to lose balance as well. If he had stayed upright he might have had a chance to get the puck before Tatar. But Tatar should not have been unchecked. That’s on Rielly who was coming from the grassy knoll, er behind the net.

If you find the right setting for your taser, those bad boys will come unstuck in 4 or 5 shots. Trial and error in getting the right setting though.
