That game 7 loss to the Leafs at the Joe in 1993 was one of the most painful losses of my Red Wings fan life. To this day my Leaf fan friends and some family remind me of this game. Even though I saw my team go on to win 4 Stanley Cups and lose in 2 SCF's. I was there that night at the Joe. Nik the Stik. (frank)ing bastard! 🤣

Well Alyssa Milano was certainly hot. Wings had high hopes for Joe Murphy. I can still recall Jimmy D saying he was a "can't miss home run prospect."

Yeah ol' Slats traded for Murphy, Graves and Klima and they helped the Oilers win the Cup in 1990. Billy Ranford played out of his mind in that Cup run. It's so sad what happened to Joe Murphy. ☹️

Very sad. I stopped in Kenora a couple months ago on the way to Winnipeg to try finding him and help a bit. Apparently he’s now in Saskatchewan as the book brought too much attention to his “peace” in Lake of The Woods.
It’s -35 without the windchill last few mornings. He’s probably better off there. Hope he gets the help he needs.

There was speculation it was Jiri Hudler, a first round pick and a prospect. But I never did find out which prospect it was. I'm guessing it would've been Shawn Matthias or Brendan Smith. Maybe Jakub Kindl. But I don't know. All 3 became busts. Holland also wanted to bring Fedorov back but Babs didn't want him.

What a fun game to watch, regardless of the winner.

He is also about a year removed from severing tendons in his wrist, and that is a year where he has not been able to play a lot. I think maybe some patience is in order. The goal this evening was a gift, but you need some luck now and then.

i am far more concerned with the complete lack of physical presence on this team, the goalie who lets in at least one softie, every game, and the guys who only show up sometimes.
