Leafs were frustrating them. Especially in the 3rd. Won more 1 on 1 battles and made the Habs look dopey. Leafs forwards are back checking more now too which is making things simpler for the defensemen. This is how you win in the playoffs.

Sure the intensity will be much higher. But it looks like Keefe is trying to instill a certain blueprint for his players to follow. The key is to perfect this defensive structure and then kill teams in the transition game. That's the next step. Create your offense from your defense.
