Chiarot will be much braver with no Simmonds in the Leafs lineup. - gergeswillems
I'm just glad he won't be baited into a fight by a fourth liner again.

Kerfoot will get hit from behind by Anderson and then get a delay of game penalty for breaking the glass with his face. - PatC80
Montreal with 8 straight power plays to start the game and Claude Julien after first call on the Habs with 4 minutes to play in the third

Agree - I am sure all Hockey fans everywhere would rather watch a no-talent gorilla that skated on his ankles until he was 15, cross-check star players than watch a game based on skill.

That can't be them, Chiarot has to wait for him to turn back on, so he does see it coming. |

Off topic question. When did our other blogger Lucas depart? Did he even say adios? Wonder if MIB disabled him in a bar? |

Maybe Lucas was forced to read the top 40 Leafs prospects blogs all at once and tapped out at #25. |

2020's have interesting twists : where coaches and thugs get away with cross-checking with intent.

Wonder about the size of bonus Chiarot got from Julien - winsix
Maybe if the player's safety and refs would do their jobs, players wouldn't feel the need to retaliate.
Stutzle was fine btw and a penalty was called on the play. It's been dealt with.

Scabeh - let's not ingore the fact - as the announcer stated it was the third penalty called on infractions against Stuzle. Seems like either a significant coincidence or some instructions to rough up the player. Clearly this is backed up by the vicious cross-check (uncalled) that sidelined Matthews for a game. Is it coincidence or are there instructions to goon the other team's star players?

The kid's been in the league for nine minutes, playing on a team that is guaranteed to finish last, and the guy feels the need to cross-check him in the back of the head?
That's franking gutless. |

Well the Habs have brought in guys like Chiarot, Edmundson and Weber to play a tough, physical game.
If you have a big strong defense, you use them to their strenght, which implies playing rough and hitting guys in front of the net.
Star players are good enough to hurt you on the scoreboard if you give them too much room, so yeah, they probably go extra hard on them. Why wouldn't they? That's how they can play and be effective.
It's the way it's always been though. I don't understand why this comes as a complete surprise this season.
Until the NHL changes it's approach on the matter, I can't really feel bad about it either. |

Glad Stutzle wasn't hurt on the play. |
