Happy Gameday.
Time to continue our game of the other teams' jerseys game.
Premise is simple: you are given one free shirt from each team in the league - who do you get?
Today we go through the Discover Central Division.
Tampa Bay: I'm tempted to go with Rob Zamuner here, and then when people ask me "WTF?" I can tell them about his Team Canada Olympic selection. I like Stamkos, too. But this one was always going to end up with Dave Andreychuk.
Florida: I have no franking idea. I never really liked Bure - either of them. I could go with a Gary Roberts, and then have a protein shake stain on the front. Jagr would be fun. But I'm going to go with Bryan McCabe, with the C on the front.
Chicago: I've never really liked the Blackhawks due to the Norris Division rivalry, so this one is obviously going to a goon from that era. Stu Grimson wins this one over Dave Manson and Bob Probert.
Columbus: I'm literally googling "best Columbus Blue Jackets" right now. First thought was to go with Rick Nash, but I'm going to go with goon Jody Shelley. Either way, this never gets taken out of the closet. Oh, and it will be the jersey with the cannon on the front.
Carolina: Obviously this is going to be a Whalers jersey. Shanny? Pronger? My brother would go with Keon. Howe is tempting. But I'll go with Sean Burke - always good to get a goalie sweater.
Dallas: Tempted to go with Modano, because while I never liked him, I always respected him. And I like #9. But I'm going to keep with the goon theme here from the Chuck Norris Division: Basil McRae over Shane Churla - in a North Stars jersey.
Nashville: Was going to go with a Paul Kariya here, but he's going to be my Anaheim, so I'll go with PK Subban here.
Detroit: Logic would dictate I take Bob Probert here, but I'm going to go with something funnier: I'll take a McCarty, and when we do the Honda West Division, I'll get a Lemieux for my wife, and we will sit together at a Red Wings game. - Atomic Wedgie
Tampa - pass
Florida - picture of a rat
Chicago - Stan Mitika
CLB - Nash
Whalers - Burke sounds good
North Stars - How can you miss Caesare Maniago? I was going to pick Gump Worsley but I want the name that sounds like it should be in the Usual Suspects on my jersey
Nashville- Jim Balsillie
Detroit - Ted Lindsey

Tampa Bay: Dino Ciccarelli. I'm still pissed Detroit traded him.
Florida: The Beezer. John Vanbiesbrouck. Who can ever forget his 1996 Cup run?
Chicago: I used to really really hate them. Great jerseys though. Especially the red ones. My dad's favourite player was Bobby Hull so I'll go with The Golden Jet.
Columbus: Sergei Fedorov. He was washed up when Doug MacLean traded for him. But #91 will always have a special place in my hockey heart.
Carolina: Hartford Whalers for me too. I loved those green jerseys. Brass Bonanza. I'll go with Frank Pietrangelo just because that last name looked so spectacular on the back of the jersey.
Dallas: The stinkin' Stars. I hated them too. But it's North Stars for me. Since I already chose Dino Ciccarelli for Tampa I'll go with Bobby Smith. The first Stanley Cup I can ever recall watching was Isles/North Stars and I remember a young Bobby Smith.
Nashville: God I hate their jerseys. Especially the yellow baby turd ones. So it would have to be the blue one. I don't know. Pekka Rinne I guess. It seems like he's been there since Day 1 for some reason.
Detroit: Wow. Just 1? I have so many. I'll have to go with one I don't have. Gerard Gallant. Skilled. Tough. Rode shotgun on Yzerman's wing. Spuddy never took a night off. |

People have got to stop focusing on the meaningless, superficial crap that Trump did. I don't care that he tweeted out "covfefe."
He tried to dismantle their healthcare system, and lied for 4 years that he was working on a replacement. He was never working on a replacement.
He claimed to be a conservative (more importantly, conservatives claimed he was a conservative) yet he wildly increased spending, and irresponsibly grew the deficit during a time of economic expansion.
His rates of growth for both job creation and GDP were lower than Obama's.
He brought in incredibly irresponsible tax cuts for the rich, and franking hilariously put in temporary tax cuts for the middle and lower classes. How the frank did the general public not see this and get outraged?
I could go on and on and on, but the point is from a legislative standpoint, he was a giant failure. He has absolutely no legacy whatsoever. He never tried to achieve anything - he simply tried to pull down what Obama had created.
Four years later and the country didn't move forward at all. It simply split itself in two.
That's what we should be talking about. Not his hair, not his Twitter, not Lou Dobbs. |

All true, plus he was fundamentally anti-democratic and never cared about the country he was elected to lead. Some of his tweets give evidence to that, but those things are in addition to the failures you listed.
You also canโt ignore the bizarre relationship with Putin. Just read he tried to ensure that Biden administration would never be able to access private convos he had with Vlad. He failed and Biden folks have them and and have cut off access to future security briefings which former Presidents normally get.

All true. He also claimed to be standing up to China but his tarrifs were just passed on to US consumers and necessitated bailouts to farmers. China gained on the US in economic clout during his term and he alienated the allies needed to counterbalance them.
He really accomplished nothing other than to enrich himself, the rich, and divide the country. |

It's really Trumpism, not nationalism. Trump has contempt for his own base. He cares only about himself. |

The IHME projects rates will start to rise again soon and then drop off starting in the third week in March. A more rapid spread of the variants makes it worse and universal mask use makes it much, much better and quicker.
