With all those injuries, those bottom two lines look bad. - Archaic
The second line has 4 even strength goals this year. |

My more favourite question to ask when sipping wobbly-pops with guys my age:
If I gave you a coupon for any Blue Jays customized jersey, who would you get?
For me, it's Stieb, Barfield or Upshaw. I don't recall the powder blues having buttons up the front, so it would have to be a white uniform.
But of those three guys, I wouldn't be able to decide until I was actually standing at the counter and the kid working the embroidery machine getting impatient, and I blurt out one of the names. - Atomic Wedgie
Joe Carter. Or Roy Halladay. Or Roberto Alomar. Or Tony Fernandez!

Leafs is a top10 team in NHL.
Fans like to see top teams.
Give overseas leafs fans (Sunday games?) That start a bit earlier than 1am CET. It's all I'm asking. - MaximusAurelius
So you're saying that during a global pandemic, which has greatly reduced the revenues of the league, the Leafs should inconvenience local fans in order to cater to the hundreds of european fans, 99% of which who will watch the games on illegal streaming sites, so the Leafs won't actually see any revenues for it?
As promised, I will take your idea to the Leafs and the TV networks, but my gut feeling is they aren't going to go for it. |

Dermott back in
6-1 Leafs
Kevin Papetti
@KPapetti
Travis Dermott's career numbers at 5-on-5:
Goals: 117-90 (56.5%)
Shots: 1318-1218 (52%)
Shot Attempts: 2541-2243 (53%)
Expected Goals: 107-93 (53%)
He's been on for one goal against this season (game one, and it was a bit of a weak goal).

Very nice ....can't help but think Bogosian has settled his play down.
Good problems to have ...Dermott, Lehtonen and Sandin all needing ice. |

I think Dermott is a bit under rated. nice results for a cheap option

On more angry old man rant from Wedgie:
Why do reporters (who should know better) always report on the top selling jerseys on the NHL website?
My guess is that less than 5% of all jerseys in Canada are purchased from the NHL website. Hell, less than 2%.
According to an article in the Athletic, the top three jerseys right now are Washington thirds.
It's a bizarre metric which over-estimates soft markets, and penalizes strong markets where I can get whatever damn jersey I want at any local sports store. |

Lots to like about his game ...just hasn't had a season where he gets consistent minutes/role. In a perfect world we'd see enough out of him and Lehtonen to know we can pencil them into the lineup next year.
Tough to get minutes to them (and Sandin) this year.
But that's a good problem. |

How is NHL supposed to grow their audience if they're not going to play more games at different times though?
Leafs 10pm West Coast time is ok for me as well - MaximusAurelius
So the Leafs are owned by Bell and Rogers. Let's move the start times for Leafs games to 5 PM EST so Max in Spain can see it while 99% of people who pay for Bell or Rogers are still finishing work or eating dinner. Makes total sense! |
