I really hope Rossi is right about the Pens plans for Matheson. I also hope the new regime reevaluates Sullivan. |

I’m 100% down with these moves because we got nowhere to go but up and this makes things interesting |

I tend to think everything gets re-evaluated at this point. |

My understanding is that Hextall's specialty is rebuilding through the draft. He won't be able to do that for a few years here, due to Rutherford trading away so many picks.
Whomever the Pens hire they will need to give the new GM a long "honeymoon period". The new GM's hands will be tied for a while, unless they are really good at scouting undrafted young players and really shrewd with UFA's. |

Holy crap I just saw the picture the Pens posted on their FB announcement of Burke, and the dude looks like Steve Bannons older brother. Greasy hair and all! |

Just a guess, but Burke will likely kick that hack Morehouse out of hockey discussions. That’s a good thing. |

Im happy about Hextall, but I’m reserving judgement on the Burke hiring in the respect that I don’t know he will be much different. |

Basically they will try to move him once he’s healthy. The emergence of POJ changes his fit. |

Brian Burke president of hockey ops! With Hextall as GM!!! - pens4life-66
Tell my why I should be excited about Burke. I really only know him for his Leafs tenure and that was not good. |

Head of Hockey Ops is above the GM in personnel decisions right? Bad if so. |

Basketball wise it is. I don’t know of a team in the NHL that has a President of hockey ops apart from the GM so I don’t know HWT the power dynamic is here. |

Well this kills my good vibes over the Hextall hire.
Burke’s Steve Bannon looking ass is right up there with Chiarelli of guys I have no idea how they keep getting jobs. |

I really don’t know how a trade like that works. Retention plus a prospect or pick? Taking a bad contract back?
This will be interesting to see if it does in fact happen. |

I know that I am in the minority, but the Rags are having a hard time moving Deangelo... His contract has a shorter shelf life... |
