Voracek was moved to Couturier's line to start the third period (and they scored the GWG). AV wasn't asked yesterday what the combo will be to start tonight.

But it sounds like a moot point right now if Seravalli is correct about tonight's game being postponed.

Edit: It's correct. No game tonight.

Nice work, Bill.

Capitals will be debuting their retro jerseys tonight IF the game happens. Maybe that will shake the Caps out of this funk

Thanks, Bill. It was still a good read today.

Praying for a healthy outcome for the team and their families.

The team has been outscoring their mistakes and they need to get better in their own zone. The loss of Niskanen has had a cascade effect throughout the defensive pairs as players have had to slot up a spot maybe before they are ready. The forwards have not done a good enough job of getting back to support/leaving the zone too soon before possession is assured and giving the D no good options. He also stated that offensively and goaltending has been fine, and described the forwards as opportunistic in terms of scoring.

I'm glad he mentioned the forwards because I have noticed a lot of bad gaps between the D and forwards and what results is opponents can generate speed in the neutral zone and create odd man rushes. The other problem I have seen is just the continued poor d-zone clearing attempts, it seems we would rather try to get the puck through 5 players along the boards vs. just flipping the puck over them or utilizing the center up the middle.

This could be good news for the Flyers. First they can get the inevitable Covid outbreak over with and not have to worry about it moving forward. Second they can gain valuable practice time to work out the many kinks in their system.

I disagree, they just started to play better, I wish we could have kept going. Why can they practice but not play ? I would think practice would be in hold, no ?

I don’t think he did a poor job. We have yet to see how good he did for the Flyers though. I think the whole process took a lot longer than expected. The scary piece is he probably learned from all that.

Jus because they have an issue now doesn't mean they won't have to worry about it in the future.

I think about the team as the staff and coaches also. Some are older, and yes, their families and contacts.

This is not good news at all

1) They are not practicing if the players are sick

2) COVID affects everyone differently. Players could potentially get permanent brain or lung damage, young people in good shape have died from it and all these guys have families including some with newborns who will be very susceptible to the virus

3) COVID isnt a one time thing. If you catch it, it doesnt mean you cant get it again.
