the panel on HNIC were discussing that last week and they think that would be Crosby desired destination if he were to be traded. - dmnted

You're right, having Sidney Crosby makes zero sense if you actually want to have a superstar C who instantly elevates MTL to legit Cup favourite.
Definitely worth clearing the prospect cupboard for. - mjones242

supposedly that was the only destination Crosby would consider leaving Pitts for but it will NEVER happen, makes no sense from a MTL point of view, the cost would empty the prospect pool. - Symba007
I took a peek at the Habs' roster on Capfriendly, and wow, they've done a good job of keeping salaries down.

If he plays like he has this season for the next 6 years.
Anderson's contract might turn out to be worth every penny.
That's still a big if but... he's looking great.

There's an awful lot wrong with your mathing, but let's start with he ran 40 yards, not 40 metres. - Atomic Wedgie
Brady is just a little bit slower than the current 100m world record.......

Agreed. Imagine what they would have to trade. It wouldnt make sense.
Also, I doubt Crosby will ever leave Pitts during this current contract. Maybe as an aging veteran like Thornton/Spezza. |

At a cap hit of $8.7M, another team would have to make a really, really, really good offer for him. |

So what happens with the Powerplay now with Simmonds out? Vesey net front?
I think Hyman on first PP, and Vesey on second. |

that makes sense... Hyman isn't as physical in front as Simmonds but we should be able to manage.....Or maybe they move Nylander to the front of the net. |

I think you want to keep Nylander with JT as a second skill pairing. Having Simmonds out for so long is going to hurt.

The Leafiness is so iconic here. Simmonds parks himself in front of the net on virtually every offensive push, reg shifts or power plays. Shots coming at him from everywhere... and he gets hurt on a clearing attempt. |

Not what I would do. The second PP will end up being useless. Should have kept JT on the second pairing. Honestly at that point they might as well put Nylander on the top unit as well |

At what point do we say that Mikheyev needs to sit in the press box?
No goals and 2 assists in 12 games just isn't cutting it. |

He has been good, he just cant score. His speed has helped on the PK, so no way he sits.

Why is Pitts not the cup favourite right now? - Symba007
Because they don't have a good team surrounding Sidney Crosby?
I'm not saying one player makes a team a Cup favourite -- I'm saying a player of his calibre - on a team that is already a legit playoff threat - can elevate the team into said Cup favourite.
So yes, I think a trade for Sid makes some sense. Maybe there are better ways MTL can get better but anytime you can land a guy like Crosby you shouldn't so casually dismiss it. |
