Can we talk about Edler deliberately taking out Simmonds?

Don't you dare suggest that it was just a hockey accident - there's no way that a Canucks defenceman would throw a puck up the middle of the ice like that.

Once again, the NHL fails to act to protect the Leafs.

Looks like Wedgie has to take care of it.

I am personally placing a hundred-dollar bounty on the head of Alexander Edler. He's the assistant captain and chief punk on that Vancouver team.

Yeah, a hundred bucks of my own money for the first of our guys who really nails that creep.

Do I get it if I intentionally give him the bug?

You know you’re out in left field when you’re agreeing with a bird.

You really like to pick your spots where you get indignant over things and others where not so much. Anyway, just pointing out it’s a pretty racist term.

Oh he asked for a trade?

I forgot that the only "options" were people that asked for a trade....

I'm both selectively indignant and either a racist or am unaware of the historical context of "scalping".

Got it.

He didn't do it intentionally, he just sucks. The Canucks' incompetence spreading to the Leafs...

The only options are players that are actually available. Yes.

Most players are available. Ritchie does not cost as much. His contract is less than Bennett.

You specifically changed available to "player who asked for a trade"

I would venture to guess. Not state as fact a la Santo. That over 75% of players would be moved giving the right offer. So they are technically available

Every player could be moved “for the right offer.”

First of all no, most players are certainly not available.

Bennett being available is a fact, due to him asking for a trade.

There is zero evidence Ritchie is available. Why the (frank) would Boston trade Ritchie?

I asked you if there were better options, you said Ritchie. So ironically I ask you...why are you saying Ritchie is an option as it’s a fact? There is zero evidence supporting this.

Everyone’s available, CBJ should have traded for Dristiel not Laine

All I did was not view Ritchie as a realistic trade option because there is 0 evidence he is available, and he’s doing well for Boston.

The only facts I were talking about were the lack there of in saying Ritchie is an option.

I never said everyone was available for your sometimes crazy ideas. But for the right price yes.....

You seemed to suggest there was "no way" there was a cheaper option than Bennett. Not sure you qualify to make that statement.

People losing their minds over trading the likes of Engvall and Dermott need a beer break.

Was ist das Alpenbier?

- mjones242

I have zero option trading Engvall.

I prefer to keep Dermott because depth, because Sandin needs to grow. If we have to turn to Sandin in the playoffs, well... I don't believe it goes well. Everyone made him their female dog in his own end last year, and that was the regular season. There's nothing wrong with needing to mature before being flung into the limelight, having Dermott as a 7th D shields Sandin from that.

That being said, I'm okay trading Dermott in the right deal.

My bigger question would be how many players on higher salaries are we trading for before it means we're trading Hyman as well. Because Bennett, Gibson, etc... These guys all cost money and there's only so much of that.
