I am curious why Lankinen was not the backup? - Hockeygirl222
I think just to give him a complete day have - didn’t have to dress, didn’t have to be ready just in case - a luxury this season with three goalies on the roster. |

I guess they didn't even want him out there - BetweenTheDots
He’s so overhyped, Stan needs to trade him now. |

Agree as a back -up you must prepare as if your the starter. Is a real break with young goalies .Subban making a case to see some more games . |

McCartney had a pretty decent SB Halftime performance but that was forever ago. Or at least it feels that way. Maybe 10-15 years or something like that. Can't quite remember.

I think our roster as is actually isn't that far away from what I'd like to see for the next few seasons(a successful rebuild/retooling around Kane and Keith). But a lot of guys need some more experience(obviously), and they'll be getting plenty of it as the season goes along. Pretty much the only changes I see are Dach replacing Soderberg and possibly Nylander replacing Janmark(although I'd prefer to re-sign Janmark and play him instead of Nylander). Toews is another question mark so I'm not gonna count him as part of the future any longer, until i hear some positive news. Gotta prepare as if he's not gonna be here, unfortunately. And then on the blueline Boqvist should be back soon. So basically swap him in for Zadorov(who i doubt will be here past this season) and we're set:
Kane
Strome
Cat
Kubalik
Kurashev
Suter
Janmark/Nylander
Shaw
Dach
Hagel
Highmore
Kampf
Boqvist
Beaudin
Mitchell
Keith
Murphy
Carlsson
Seabrook?
Lankinen
Subban
That's a playoff team next season. A very exciting, competitive playoff team. The future is bright!!!
Just for the hell of it here's my opinion on what the combos and pairings should be if that is indeed the roster we're working with:
Janmark/Nylander-Dach-Kane
DeBrincat-Strome-Kubalik
Suter-Kurashev-Hagel/Shaw
Highmore-Kampf-Hagel/Shaw
Keith-Mitchell
Beaudin-Murphy
Carlsson/Seabrook-Boqvist |

New blog! A recap of the Blackhawks 2-1 overtime victory over the Stars bolstered by Subban's stable goaltending and DeBrincat's solo performance on offense.
