Some serious sh!t sandwiches are being eaten on the Canucks thread.
Thanks Carol - winsix
They deserve it, and they know it. They must eat their sandwich. |

I think it would be Dermott plus Engvall...adding Engvall does tilt the value for the Flames but its the price to pay for them to retain salary for it to work. - Santo_44
Wow. This Bennett cat must be a hidden gem. Now we're going to give up 2 projects for one |

Hey, make a good trade with any of our players and I don’t care. But saying Dermott isn’t good and then I look at his stats playing beside a pylon it makes me wonder what some are looking at. Sandin was ok last year, seemed the puck went in our net a lot when he was on the ice though. Lehtonen looked good, but 1 game? I’m going to shoot people in the face on Xbox. I’ll check out Bennet later 🤣 - Garnie
Bogosian has been far, far better than Dermott this year. Granted, Bogo had a couple of rough first games but he's largely settled in and has played very solid minutes.
Dermott's stats are pretty glaring though: 0 points, 2 hits, 1 TK, 3 GV, all while getting 2/3rds of his shifts starting in the Ozone.
Sandin will make some mistakes but he's shown patience and can actually be creative offensively. He'll be fine playing the same uber-protected mins Dermott has been rewarded.
Lehtonen has played 5 games and his play is getting stronger. 3 pts in 5 games is a pretty good start. |

He could be our Pat Maroon. |

So...not a proven playoff performer? - Zezel
The same Kadri who had 9 goals and 18 points in 15 playoff games last year? |

Is Bennett like that? I'm honestly asking what's great about Bennett, other than his banter with Matrix. |

He doesn't have to be a "gem". He simply has to be a net positive in areas that could use some improvement, namely: size and grit.
Dermott is not a project any more. He is what he is: a bottom pair guy who isn't especially terrible but is, at best, a replacement level bottom pair guy.
Engvall... I actually like his speed and PK ability. But you have to give up in one area that you already have depth in the system for something you don't have.
I'd make that deal. |

He's a bottom 6 forward, but if he ever hits his ceiling he could be quite the top 6 PWF in my opinion. |

I mean, it seems to me that Kadri is like Bennett, in that at the key moment he puts down the chickenpoop gun and parties, and takes a steam pipe through the chest. We need a guy who doesn't put down the chickenpoop gun. |

He has been much better in the playoffs than regular season. If you take away his first year when he was 18 his stats are 19 games 8 goals and 7 assists. He hits, will drop the gloves. But is not a great centre...... guess he would do in a pinch. |

Anyone crying about losing engvall can go away.
I don’t want his useless 1.25M cap next season. Put a Boyd in his place and you get the same result. |

Excuse me?
Those are stats, which are then used to generate advanced stats, so you can't argue with them.
Perhaps you aren't intelligent enough to understand advanced stats?
Sincerely,

It's actually insane.
Washington has only been credited with 22 shots so far. They should be well over 30, easily. |

So basically, we have to wait about 35 games to determine whether Bennett was worth the risk. Hard pass. |

No he would play right now
Dermott is not an all star, you are acting as if the leafs are losing a superstar in this scenario. |

Yeah, Dermott and Bogosian play very well together. Dermott is making Bogosian look good in the same way that Muzzin does for Holl.
It's working, so I see no need to (frank) with it.
That being said, I do like the idea of Bennett on the Leafs. |
