Leafs don't need Bennett. He upgrades nothing.
- gergeswillems

Nothing? He would add further physicality which is a necessary component for post-season play.

Personally, I'd rather have a guy like Crouse but he may or may not be available.

At the very least, Bennett > Vesey.

Hutch on Monday and give Freddy some rest for the real game(s)?

I asked this same question.

I was told - Do you want to win.

Basically, we are down to tinkering with a few of the lower spots in the lineup. I say that Kyle checks a few more options around the league if he wants to move Dermott. Looking at the Canucks and their D for starters, I dare say there might be some smoke there.

Can't say I've watched Bennett enough to see his top end potential, but I don't think we need another project on our hands at this stage of the season. We've already got one with Veysey.

- Leafsmart

Dermott is a project, you aren't getting anything else but a project in return. Bennett gives the Leafs a hard working physical player that can play C as well as the W.

Lehtonen and Sandin should be playing over Dermott. Bennett would slot right in the lineup and would not take a more deserving players spot.

What’s the over/under on when the trade proposals start? (What time is it in Spain?)

Lehtonen>Dermott

And when he gets more comfortable I don’t think
It’ll be close.

- Santo_44

Completely agreed. Obvious assists aside, he had his strongest game last night during 5v5 play.

Looks like his confidence is really growing. 14+ mins shows that Keefe is growing in confidence with his play too.

Not gambling if it’s free is it?

I have Emmylou and Knoffler together on my playlist - emmylou is one of my dads fav’s.

- Garnie

Garmbling is never free, not even if Vegas loads you up with comps. Emmylou is great
Parsons was a really interesting cat.

A deal revolving around Virtanen and Dermott would be worth looking at.

(prefer Bennett though)

I prefer Bennett for a few reasons.

1. Can play C

2. Bennett isn't rumoured to be a bad teammate

3.Proven playoff prefromer

4. CGY has the cap situation to retain cap, VAN does not

I like the potential there...He could be a low end top 4 D, its early but I just like the potential I am seeing in the small sample size.

Looks like a tough week for picking the HB pool.

Hopefully no more cancelled games too.

Vegas is back

Colorado still has some time before they can play.

Not sure about giving up Dermott for something we could probably replace from within. Regardless of some people’s eye test Dermott’s stats aren’t too bad.

Whoever is keeping track of the shots in the Philly/Washington game is a moron. They've only counted around half of Washington's shots so far.

It's like they don't know that rebound shots counts as shots.

But Dermott can't be replaced from within? Lehtonen last night? Sandin?

D are a different breed, rather keep my d depth and plug and play my forwards with what we have.

If we’re going to lose him for nothing ( expansion ) and can make a good trade, sure.

Yeah lets trade Dermott so we have no depth and if we get a couple of injuries we have Marincin in top 4 again.

I think you replied before I added a quick edit:

I would prefer Bennett as well as he is more versatile. Plus, Virtanen is a RW and I'm not sure how great he'd look playing on the off wing.

Agreed with your other points.
