5v5 play looks pretty good and the Defence is quiet ..in a good way.

If I was nitpicking (aren't we always) I'd love to see some better 5v5 finish from guys not named Matthews n Marner.

I don't mind the 'how can we maybe get better' trade proposals.

Unless they come from Spain.

Sam Bennet is big, fast and gives you the impression he could do so much more.

But when you look at him during a whole game, you realize everything he does doesn't work.

He makes the wrong plays, loses the puck in his net drive, can't finish a good exchange, misses the net.

So yeah, great physical attributes. Terrible player.

New toy syndrome is the worst.

I am unsure what Dubas wants to do because his forward depth looks to be fine. So what if we rotate 4th liners?

I think of it as 'what ifs'. We can all agree that the team is clearly in win now mode. If so and if there is a piece that is not performing well enough to win it all then we can all agree they'll take a shot a improving.

The D looks solid but I wouldn't be surprised to see a veteran add at the deadline. Maybe another bottom forward to balance out the 4 lines. And if Freddy or Campbell is leaky come late March I gotta think they'd at least make some calls.

Big picture (beyond this short season) they have Cap/Tending issues. So I'm sure they're already having some discussions.

I'm ready for Chiarot distributing 18 great defensive cross-checks, putting 2 top six forwards out of the lineup and Kerfoot taking 5 minor penalties 3 for tapping an opponent in the pants with his stick, 2 for delay of game.
