I alluded to it with Lordy, I think that's on Green. They are watching film, they are seeing this breakdown from Miller, and then watching him get rolled out with the top unit game after game. Green is coaching for an extension (or his next job) and seemingly can't afford to bench his top player despite him deserving it, leaving accountability to the wayside. That's why my original post was that the optics aren't great that the players feel the need to do that on ice and not between periods/post game

Yeah, good points. It's seldom you see a staredown from a Goalie to the bench. That definitely meant something. I also posted Saturday saying that particular play epitomizes the Canucks game right now....or something to that effect. I agree with most who think Green's days are winding down here.

I think we should turn our attention to the real culprits. Stan Smyl, Doug Jarvis (both senior advisors to Benning) and Darryl Seward (video coach).

How do you let Jim make such stupid player personnel decisions? And with such limited practice time, how can you not rely heavily on your video coach to point out the flaws in systems/deployment/positioning/etc?

Really?

Yes, really. He's been on the team two seasons (this being his third) and went from 12 points to 33 points. That's a pretty substantial improvement.

As was discussed yesterday, I don't believe some of the physical players, like Jake and Zack are appreciated by Green, who tends to bench or sit them out, for having a decent shift/game.
It is got to be frustrating to not only try figure out this stupid convoluted systems, but also try to figure out when the coa h deems it acceptable to be physical and when the coach wants the player to do a fly-by.

Like Vintage said, it's a pretty bold claim they're getting benched BECAUSE they have a decent shift/game while being physical. Green wants his team to be fast and accountable, running around the ice to make a hit takes them out of position (yes, the irony is that this season everyone is constantly out of position..)

Those guys typically come out because they're more of a defensive liability, and if they're not generating anything else, they're useless.

Game Day. Sigh.

New blog is up, pondering the Holtby/Miller interaction, bad luck on coach's challenges, and trade rumours gaining steam...
