Just watched Green's interview after todays practice in TO, he sounds beaten down and defeated.
- VanHockeyGuy

He’s not an idiot. I think he knows the team has quit during these last two games. He knows his boss is on the hot seat along with him and if there’s a new GM hired after the season, he’s likely not returning. If I were him I’d just keep it professional despite the frustration and start looking toward the future.

I’d even just settle for some speed and physicality, just finish checks. Green has scratched guys like Virtanen and ZMac after games where they actually throw some hits, if I’m that player I’m probably thinking “this coach doesn’t value physicality much so I guess I should focus on other things”

It’s depressing seeing Beagle and Roussel trying really hard to catch up to dmen on the forecheck but sadly they’re speed is just not there anymore so they can’t even finish their checks. Sutter is too thin to throw his weight around. Gaudette just looks lost half the time and isn’t that fast either. It’s basically just Motte lol.

Meanwhile the Canucks dmen are usually getting beaten up on the forecheck and then start making panic plays with the puck.

Even in game he sits them after some nice forechecking and physical play. It is like wtf. I couldn't imagine what those 2 players think.

Agree we need toughness but Hartley would have been another Torts situation and MNGT/Ownership didn't want that lol
- LordHumungous

He’s more chill with the media, he’s just more passive aggressive in general which is why Torts hated his guts

Something needs to give.
- VanHockeyGuy

Sadly it's kind of up to FA. He either rides it out, pays for two GM's and coaching staffs, or tells Jim to do something. Which is either makes some trades or fire a coach.

Jim was already looking to the future before the season started.

Sopes speaks the truth.
JB's time has come.

I don't see the logic in firing the coach now, hiring a new GM in the offseason who will want to bring in his own guy.

Fire the GM now, ride the year out and make a decision on Green in the offseason.

- dbot

The decision on Green has already been made.

Mini van pointed out yesterday you actually save a little cap by sending Roussel to Utica and Lind to Canucks. I would personally let Lind play the year in Utica for the experience but next year I would give him a serious look.

Will they interview him before firing, they're doing everything else backwards.

Players like Perry, Getzlaf, anybody last name Tkachuk don't come around too often anymore. Podz might be close to it though.
- manvanfan

At least we have Myers who throws his weight around, too bad he has a penalty target on his back.

I would consider bringing him up, if he is playing well, although, it might not be such a good idea, if toxicity is in the dressing room.

Here is an example mention Tryamkin on this thread

He is a stay at home big guy and despite most people's dislike for him he will mix it up if needed.

Getzlaf is available , Ducks want to get rid of him

- VANTEL

See if they'd take Erikson and JV for him

'everyone is frustrated. I understand fans being frustrated that we've lost some games here. I get that. I would be too if I was a fan. But I can tell you that there's no one more frustrated than the players in the room. The coaches, the players, they care and they want to win'

They aren't playing like it, if they were they'd be getting dirty in blow out games.

Also, another inexperienced AHL player isn't the answer right now. There is enough of that with the team already. I'm all for letting the kids play but systematically it has to make sense.
