Matheson is straight up looking like one of the worst contracts in the nhl right now. At least MAF will expire soon.

Goal tending and team defense. They don't have it and I'm not sure they can fix those things.

Easily our best game for the top 6. Both Geno and Sid looked great nearly every shift. Gotta figure out how to keep the puck out of our net.

I was never a fan of bringing back MAF, but maybe he's the spark this club needs. I'd do it in a heartbeat if we could somehow make the money work.....which is doubtful.

I still have faith in Jarry. I thought he made many impressive saves that kept the Pens in this.

I really only fault him on one goal tonight.

The only way it would work is if a team took Jarry free and clear, and Vegas retained 50%. I don’t think either one of those moves would be difficult to pull off, but I don’t see a high likelihood.

We are stuck with him. He'd be movable with 2-3 years left. With how many he has left and how he has played, no GM in his right mind would trade for him.

Rutherford really franked us with that one. Would love to know what other teams were offering for Hornqvist

If it were legal, retaining Hornqvist at 100% salary for an 8th round pick would have been better than trading him for Matheson.

They could do Jarry and McCaan for MAF. I don't really want to give up on Jarry, but I don't want to waste a season of Sid/Geno hoping he plays better.

I don't know if anyone noticed, but McCaan got hurt. He's easy to forget.

I didn’t have high expectations. I was just taking a wait and see approach to his performance, but I didn’t like the trade from the jump.

If I'm the next GM of the Pens I'm trying to convince VGK that they need Matheson and to give us Marchessault in return.

Yeah like for instance on that 3rd goal against... If he was more aware or quicker he could of covered it. I'm a mixed bag on him this evening because he also made some very nice saves and stretches of solid play.

Just seems like one F up and its in the Pens net haha... Team played pretty solid for most part besides the goals against

Reports are there were teams wanting Hornqvist with better deals, but JR wanted Matheson.
