Don’t make me agree with you. Even if Joe brings a slight drop to the Matthews, Marner line (and I’m not convinced) the value of that third line is too big. Plus, Hyman can spend time moving up since Thornton won’t play the same number of minutes - Canada Cup
You're loving every second of it and you and I both know it. |

If we can find a way to have all 4 lines maximized that would be terrific. Let's see what Thornton can do back on that line before making any other decisions.
Clearly the 3rd line was best when hyman was down there. If you can put Thornton with Matthews and Marner and not lose much that I think makes your 3 lines the strongest.
Really liking Boyd on that 4th line. Petan had a very strong game last time and Anderson only played the one game so far but I though he played well. Brooks only one game too but not too bad. Barabonov and engvall should all be behind those guys at this point. I don't think they bring more to the table then the other guys listed.
And then when Thornton and Robertson come back. Their depth is pretty good shape. |

I hated Thornton on the first line, but this Matthews Marner run absolutely started the last few games Jumbo was healthy. It started to work, damn well too. I loved that 3rd line with Hyman there every game.
I'd have no issue going back to it. Both lines being good is better than 1 being good and the other being less effective than it could be. - joel878
They tried to include joe in the play which often messed with the play. Theyve been so much better with hyman. |

Wait, Leafs are 17 and Ducks are 7th in Goals Against even though they have one more goal against (with one more game)? Is this Trump math?
Based on where we are in the season, we don’t have a goals against problem this year. We have a good goalie situation. Upgrades are always good but I just don’t see the point of paying as much as the Ducks are going to ask. - Canada Cup
I disagree, I think Gibson would make the Leafs the best team in the NHL with TB.
Vaselevsky covers up a lot of defensive mistakes by TB. Leafs don't have that. |

Wouldn't you be? Dan was open about his mental health a while back.
The mental health day for the company comes and a week later youre fired? Doesnt look good.
He is allowed to be mad. |

I feel like the NHL had the most mickey mouse start to their season of all the leagues. If they started closer to Jan 1 they would have been able to have space to make up covid lost games. |

I think the Canucks have some talented forwards and a good defenseman in Hughes, outside of that, they have a lot of issues.. - PatC80
Offensively, yeah. He's an absolute Karlsson tirefire defensively. |

Agreed. As long as AM34 and Marner are rockin and rollin, that line remains in stone. |

Sure if they just added him. I’d like Makar and Hedmann as well. |

Gibson does not have the value of those guys....nor are those teams in any position to trade good players. |

Zach “stone hands” Hyman it is. Joking of course. I love Hyman but aren’t most Leaf goals (4th in the Division) coming off the PP?

And Panarin and McDavid..
Then the Leafs, who're already 1st overall, will be the best team in the league. |

Missing the point. If we’re just adding players, great add Gibson. I don’t see a trade as being worth it or necessarily making us the best team in the League without considering who we giving up. We’re not getting scored on a lot, especially when you take the first two games out. Fixing this “problem” is probably not worth the price. |

They only had a couple games together. Trying to find that chemistry can take a bit. Hyman obviously helps but he’s play a lot of games with Matthews and marner. I wouldn’t mind giving Thornton another chance when he comes back. |

Yeah, Freddy fretters need to watch the games and stop pretending they're a goalie coach after every goal. Trading for a goalie is a solution in search of a problem. |

Fixing the imaginary goaltending problem.
Santo has drawn his line in the sand, he hates Freddy and its all he wants to talk about. |
