I don't see this as an obvious weak division compared to the others. Face it,winning it all has as much to do with luck with injuries, a hot goalie, off ice issues among other factors. Only one team wins, that doesn't mean all the other teams are bad. I don't see a significant difference in many teams such as Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg. Why couldn't anyone of these teams win it? Plus many others.

The Division playoff system guarantees a Canadian team a top four position. To me that is an asterisk consideration.

Like I thought, you keep talking up the Jets like they are the 50/60' Montreal Canadiens - putting it all on, "if they don't win, it's all the coach's fault."

The Jets have a good team - and if the chips fall in place, they could: (a) make the playoffs; and (b) do some damage in the playoffs. That's it for now! Don't get carried away and then jump off the ship later.

Let me guess, you are not in management!

No I am definitely not. That would be Jetsnation.

Comparing the Jets to the Canadiens defense is something you should do. Stack them up defenseman by defenseman and you will notice that the Jets have an equal defensive core. Montreal just plays a better structure, which goes back to coaching.

If the Jets don’t win it is Maurice’s fault. When I go to watch the games, I really enjoy looking at all the banners that Maurice’s coaching has won for us....oh wait there are none. No division banners, no conference banners, no presidents trophy banners, no banners. It boggles my mind that this guy is presently the second most tenured coach in the league and he’s won nothing, but the hearts and minds of Jets media.

Saddest part about the whole equation is that excuses for Maurice losing in the future are already being made. Where is the confidence in the coach?

I would sat the Habs collection of top six is the best "defensive" top six in the Canadian Division. Besides they provide a lot of offense with Weber and Petry. How many Jet blue-liners would make the Habs? One?

Like many fans, if the team doesn't win, it's the coach's fault. That has been going on for years by thousands beside you. The difference here is that you pretty well mention it every paragraph. You are obsessed with this.

If Roslovic was apparently worth a 3rd then Niku might be lucky if he got claimed on waivers.

BTW...after getting more insight into the Laine -PLD trade its appears that PLD was eventually regarded as being worth a little bit more than Laine from both sides by the time the deal got paper as opposed to being worth a lot more in early talks. Roslovic, therefore, was partial compensation ...hence the 3rd vs a 2nd .

Ras was done in YWG. He made it clear and I can't blame him. He deserved, and earned a chance to run 2C in my opinion. His play was as close to flawless as it gets. A responsible guy and all Chevy and Pomo did was trade 1st rd's for rentals, and then throw Lowry or Wheeler in when Scheiffs got injured. He was not going to sign, and forced their hand. Ras was certainly worth more than a 3rd, but I think Dubois was worth more than Laine as well.

While Laine is scoring goals, he has been in the box for 2 goals, and is a -2. They have only won 1 of their 3 games and have allowed 15 goals against in that small sample size.

Anybody else a little miffed that Bell Media and TSN blew up sportcentre? Dan O'Toole was perfect with Jay. They were #1 in morning sports recap in Canada, and I don't know why you fire Dan, the produce, their lead writer, and Natasha Staniszewski.......

I am trying to look at it from both sides, but this isn't easy to understand. Maybe Jay and Dan were starting to bore people with their usual routines and jokes, but I still found it better than the other options. Maybe they have an opportunity to land someone great and needed to free up space? Maybe O'Toole did something that make a firing mandatory? But I doubt that is the case since they canned so many others in the same day. They truly were Canadian staples and I hope we get some answers sooner than later. Between his 1-Month old daughter going missing (turned out the ex snuck in and took her, tho she was 100% fine), and being fired 2020 has not been Dan's year. If this was simply a move to "shake things up" then shame on you Bell/TSN

Kind of think PLD will drop the gloves tomorrow night - probably with Tkachuk. Good way to get on-side with new team-mates.

Chiarot-Weber vs Morrissey-Bealieau
Edmundson-Petry vs Forbort-Pionk
Romanov-Kulak vs Stanley-DeMelo
Mete vs Poolman

Idk Ultimate, I think the Habs D core stacks up better then the Jets does, the Jets really need to add one more top 4 dman in my opinion, someone to pair with Morrissey not named Beaulieu or DeMelo.

Lots of good ones out there, I kind of like Rod Brind'Amour. Seems to get a lot out of the Canes. Cassidy, Julien, Sullivan and Vigneault are some others that jump out at me.
But (like many others here) these guys forgot more after their first practice than I know about coaching. Get mad, don't understand them all at times. lol

So, as Jets GM, who do your protect in the Expansion Draft, as we stand right now - Morrissey, Pionk and DeMelo? Or Morrissey, Pionk and Stanley?

I know I would be in the minority, but I go the latter. Stanley is just scratching the surface right now. At least IMO. Gawd I'd hate to lose him!

I would say Weber, Petry, and Mete are all easily the top dog on our blueline if they come over right now, and Kulak is about on par with DeMelo. That’s 4 on Montreal alone that top our blueline.

Also don't put the best goal scorer on the team the Jets traded them away twice.

Ross77 is laughing in his Poolman jersey right now at everyone who thought Laine was gonna spend the next decade with the Jets and shelled out $300 for his jersey.

He will be just scratched, now that Poolman is healthy.
