Lol knife care is so important and just not intuitive for people who don’t know. My dad almost murdered one of my knives when he was helping out at the apartment when the baby was born because he washed it and then set it aside to air dry. I had to explain that my knives are not stainless and the carbon will rust if you don’t hand dry immediately.

The first big tip I learned was you should never press with your knife and that changed everything. Such a simple idea, but I wasn't destroying knives anymore.

I have the Ninja Foodi and live off that thing.

Nice. I have to find more use for the instant pot pressure cooker thing we have. Here’s the air fryer. Thing is legit.

Haha I was reading a thread earlier and someone’s dad used their $300 knife or something to open oysters.

People who don’t know our knives in the washing machine ALL THE TIME. Also not many people know to not avoid bone. I have to ask my wife frequently if what she’s cutting has any bone in it and if so to switch to the beaters.

Oh nice. I like the two compartments. I want to get the really large one that looks like a big toaster oven.

I did a pressure cooked chicken into air fryer and it was pretty damn good.

Cutting. When you're holding the knife properly you're really trying to just let the knife fall through food. You use just al little pressure, but it should just glide through.

That just made me cringe. Mine get washed IMMEDIATELY and dried IMMEDIATELY.

So is there anything wrong with the thin flexible plastic cutting boards?

Yeah that’s a habit I need to develop too before I get anything too nice.

Not really, no. They're good, and are the most common type used in restaurants, but knives will last longer on wood.

Okay cool we like the convenience of throwing them in the dishwasher and the compact storage of having half a dozen stored away so easily.

Raw meat is fine to use on wood, but if I'm cutting a lot of meat I use this large plastic one I have for the same reason. It's a bit more convenient to clean that way.

The first time I used my carbon knives I didn’t know exactly how immediately they needed to be washed. I cut up a lemon with my petty and thought I’d just be fine washing it after I was done cooking. When I was done cooking there was already minor oxidation. I was shocked at the quickness of it. Now I wash the knives immediately after they touch anything even remotely acidic.

Yeah, acids will ruin them super fast. I made the same mistake for a long time with knives. It made me realize that you have to be so careful reading reviews for knives. So many people do stuff like that and think the knife is defective.

Random food thing, but my guilty pleasure is poopty kids cereals. Eggos has cereal now and it's unreal.

I love costco, but I've never had their muffins. A great find there is their korean style short ribs. They're a bit pricey, but man, they're surprisingly good for a pre-made food.

I love coffee cake. I had a rough work week, so I'm repaying myself with cereal, ice cream and frozen food this weekend. I probably would have opted for coffee cake muffins.

Yeah. Their original sauce was amazing but they discontinued it long ago. It’s pineapple, chipotles, habanero, and a handful of other things.

Never had it. I love that show though. I had Da Bomb a super long time ago, so when I saw it on there I was like holy poop. When I had it the bottle had an eye dropper that you used to apply it and when I saw they actually had a wing covered in it I couldn't believe it. That stuff is like needles to your tongue.
