Yeah that’s why I need something better than this $30 set of Amazon basics we get one we got our first apartment together.

If you’re deadset on getting a set Zwilling is your best option probably. Or honestly Victorinex. If you’re willing to trim the fat of superfluous knives and just get three or for essentials, the you should look at MAC and Wusthof.

They look cool though lol and you get all the morons dropping 5 star reviews before they even use them.
- Feds91Stammer

Well you’ll be happy to know that if you decided to get into knives, you can actually get super cool dammy and hammered knives that are good quality as well from Japanese blacksmiths that sell stuff on chefsknivestogo.com. I have four. Put it in your back pocket for later.

Yeah I think a set is where I’m going. I know I keep seeing you only use 3 knives or whatever but I will just go with a set until my skills are better.

Victorinox are probably the best brand that you can find at any old store. They have super high bang for your buck value. You just won’t impress anyone with them haha

I bought too many knives. I'm just a kitchen nerd because I cook so much and probably spend most of my money on kitchen stuff, but I wanted to try the different between the different prices.

These are my dudes. The smaller 180mm gyuto and the santoku are pretty redundant but they’re my most used knives so alternating them extends their edge lives.

Yoooo. You been to OKC? Gotta get them Tuckers Fried Onion Burgers. It’s like five guys on steroids.

I haven't been there in over five years. My S-I-L worked for Chesapeake Energy. He left that company when it started to go downhill and ended up north of Tulsa working for Conoco Philips.

I don't remember anywhere we went. What I do remember is when I ordered a steak salad, I had to order fries on the side. Then when I asked for sweet and sour dressing the waitress had no idea what I was talking about.

Soft wood that don’t use a lot of glue that will absorb the knife cut rather than bounce it off. Steer clear from bamboo because to make a bamboo board requires tons and tons of glue.

For dinner type meals...

1) Red Wine braised short ribs with parmesan polenta
2) Chicken Coq Au Vin with buttered rice and peas
3) My Italian meatballs
4) Pierogis
5) Fried Chicken Sandwich with mashed potatoes. You can see the pic before, but I used frozen fries in that pic. lol

Nice. I also have to teach the wife how to use a knife before she ruins anything nice I get.

Nice. I just upgraded to a ninja air fryer a month or so ago and frozen fries come out legit in that thing.

Lol knife care is so important and just not intuitive for people who don’t know. My dad almost murdered one of my knives when he was helping out at the apartment when the baby was born because he washed it and then set it aside to air dry. I had to explain that my knives are not stainless and the carbon will rust if you don’t hand dry immediately.

Yeah. John Boo's are very common, but good. Catskill are good as well. I have both and love my catskill end grain.
