2nd line* Tkachuk and Lindholm 1st line But after watching the Flames game last night that might be the last game Simon plays for them... not sure about the charts on it but he was really bad.

1 player that has really stood out watching the flames games is Andrew Maniapane. Not sure if he plays RW but the flames need to get him into the top 6 somehow or send him to the pens with Bennett and Kylington! haha

For what its worth I put that trade I posted yesterday past my buddy thats a scout and he said he would bet any money Flames would say no that to on there end. He called Laff useless and Robinson next to useless unless you need a big 4th line RW to crash around. His main reason for flames saying no is he said Pettersson would be there 4th LD leaving him as a healthy scratch. He seems to think they "love" Juuso Valimaki and no chance he would sit. Gio and Hanifin are above him still.

Yeah, 2nd line. Tkachuk and Lind have about 9 mins more 5 on 5 time than Gaud and Mon this season. Even still, to toss a guy you've scratched half of your games so far this season into that line and amount of time is a bit strange to me haha.

Im not sure what trade you posted. I must of missed or over looked.

Yeah, I was never a Simon hater and I would of been fine with him on the roster this season over Laff, O'Connor or even Sceviour but I think he's not that good overall and wouldn't make much difference.

He had value on the min but I wouldn’t pay him a cent over $1.5 mil and really would want him in at less than that. He wasn’t a big loss or anything but I think he’d be a better bottom six player than what we currently have. Our 4th line is really bad but that won’t really matter if Malkin and Letang continue their current season trajectories

Yeah he'd probably currently upgrade the 4th line a bit, no question...and I agree, those two need to show more...I think they will, yet. Letang worries me more than Geno in that regard because to my eyes Letang has been playing bad like it much longer than Geno.

Fwiw I also recall people saying kylington would be the one to replace Hanifin in a year or two and look where he is. (I live an hour from Calgary) But yeah wouldn’t be ideal on their part to trade more to one of their perceived strengths.

Yohe observations from yesterday’s practice on the Athletic:

By the end of the practice Rierden managed to get through to Malkin to have a shoot first mentality on the PP. No guarantee it’ll translate to in game.

P.O. Joseph looked good running the second unit and has a strong wrister.

Letang will definitely be back for Saturday and there’s optimism about Matheson and ZAR. Letang stayed on the ice for extra time after practice.

Sullivan’s demeanor this year has been a lot more positive with the players and has yet to snap or chew anyone out during practice. I am unsure if that’s good or bad.

Good news on the shooting mentality’s. That’s what I was saying, they need the shooting the puck version of a bag skate. I think Letang and mm will def play which is needed with Marino now out. But O’Connor was taking rushes on 4th lw and 2nd pp so I don’t think we see zar yet even though zar says he hasn’t felt this good since his first year in regards to his shoulder and he’s been skating for 2 months.

Ya very true. Super weird to me with him because when they throw Kylington into games he looks good (when he was 21-22) then they take him back out. Now it seems there is no chance he will ever make it back with Valimaki in his way.

Trade I posted was Bennett, Kylington, Robinson for Pettersson and Lafferty.

Yeah not sure if having Simon over a healthy ERod makes that big a difference right now. I think I'd still take Simon over ERod for playing up the line-up, but when both would be on the 4th line isn't going to matter.

Agree there are bigger problems.

For some reason I always (or most of the time) thought he was the RW and Tanev was the LW on that line....

As a prospect ZAR was listed as a left handed RW. Hockey is fluid, so I wouldn’t be shocked if ZAR and Tanev tandemed around the ice a lot.

I thought Sully didn't like ZAR at RW for some reason. I know he played all 3 forward spots in college, but thought he was only LW here.

Oh I totally get the switch up while playing...just seems like he was on the right of Bluey at faceoffs a lot

Yeah I saw that. I mean cal is getting the only full time nhl player, but I guess if he’s 4th string it doesn’t make sense.

Also Marino on ice for practice today!

Sully can not like him at RW and still think it’s a better option than Sam Lafferty.

I’ve had YouTube TV, Sling, and Fubo before completely dropping off of TV streaming services. I switched from Sling to YouTube TV because Sling raised their prices to be equal to YouTube’s and YouTube TV was the better product minus lack of RedZone, NBA TV, and the NHL channel at the time (I think they have Redzone now), so during the summer when there were no sports, YouTube was better. But then YouTube TV raised their prices too and just wasn’t worth it so I switched to Fubo for about a week before they too raised their prices. I think Sling is back to being the best value service after the recent tranche of price hikes, and they allow for more customization of channel package, but generally speaking, they’re basically as expensive as a normal low-tier cable subscription now.

As far as local blackouts go, your subscription comes with your zip code’s local networks, so you won’t be blacked out. For example, if you live in the DC area, you’ll get the Washington DC specific ABC/Fox/CBS/NBC, and I think all these services will give you NBCSN DC too. At least I remember getting it on Sling and YouTube TV

I have sling and get NBCSN and NHL network who it, and I pay $40 month. Youtube TV is $65. Not a HUGE difference, but about the only difference I see is that I get local channels, so I would get games that are on NBC. I get almost all the same channels on Sling as Youtube. I'm not sure if it's worth the other extra $25.

There’s a work around to get local channels on Sling with something called AirTV. Essentially AirTV connects to an antena and then converts the OTA broadcast into a digitally stream able feed. AirTV used to be its own thing with its own app, but they started closely working with sling a while back and made it so you can have the AirTV beam the channels into Sling as part of your overall channel listing. The integration was actually so successful that sling flat out bought AirTV and it’s now a Sling product. I actually still use the Sling app specifically for ABC and CW OTA channels courtesy of the AirTV because for whatever reason I can’t watch live ABC and CW feeds with my parents’ cable sub log in.

So the work around: get an AirTV and hook it up to an antenna. Set up the AirTV on the Sling app and choose the local OTA channels you want, and boom! Now you get, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CW, PBS, ION, and whatever other trash local network you want in sling.

Long story short: don’t pay more money for a different tv streaming service just because you want local channels. You can do that with sling, just requires some extra hardware.

Maybe. Or maybe my recollection is wrong. I'm guessing it's more likely ZAR goes in for O'Connor though.
