I still would not have re-signed either Tanev nor Markstrom. I don't think keeping Toffoli (who went public saying he wanted to stay) would have been cost prohibitive.
I remember after each UFA contract was signed (and in Sutter's case, extended) that a group of fans said those contracts will bite them in the ass down the road. They were treated like they had said "Jehovah!".
