Nobody is playing 100% right now probably but he looks hurt. I noticed in a few board battles, he gave a little bit extra last night and won them but it was usually after he had to do some damage control from being too soft.

I had miss the game last night entirely, when I saw the score I was glad I did.

We've talked about this lots. Get a quality young D if you can get one for a reasonable price.

100%

I feel like Nucks fans were spoiled by Petey because it didn't really happen for him but sophmore slumps are fairly common. Not insanely surprised Hughes hasn't been quite as good this year.

- NorthNuck

We all know he'll get back around to it, but he looks way more like a rookie this year than last year.

If the team continues its spiral... sort of a bad time to get a high draft pick with the pandemic, but that could go a long way to making this team competitive. Top 10 defenseman would be amazing.

I quit watching after 5-2 or something. I got so sick of Edler trying to pass the puck through a Leafs forward to where the Van player so was standing stationary waiting to deflect a puck in.

Green's system really looks like it belongs to a mid table KHL team.

Canucks don't move the puck quick enough and they move their feet even slower.

You want to give up Hughes or someone else?

There's some good Dmen in the 5-10 range of this draft. Would be pretty beneficial for the team long term.

In this draft there might be only 1 player that would be immediate help to any team. Owen Power.

Sure, if you can't trade for one, maybe you luck out and can snag one of those.

But who and at what cost? Teams aren't giving up depth this year.

Then that's our team this season, let the cards fall where they may.

You'd have to think TOR will continue exposing the glaring holes in the D and no sense of urgency again Saturday.

"You're doing really good Quinn!"

"I like how you skate!"

"Your mom is so proud of you! You're a fantastic hockey player!"

Like that?

They looked like a team playing to get someone fired. It was embarrassing.

I don't think there's any one piece you can slot in that will make it all work, unfortunately. It's a combination of execution and system. I mean, if you took Hedman and put him next to QH, that'll make that pairing better, but it's not going to change the other players' sloppy passes or bad backchecks or defensive breakdowns.

Schmidt is the best overall Dman Canucks have right now.

It's the coaches job to get him going, maybe sit him a couple of games.

"Everytime QH is on the ice they're getting scored on"

Just finished watching last night's game, he is not wrong, Hughes in absolutely horrible defensively and appears to be worse when Pouty is on the ice.

Well JB can show his worth and make a trade or something to shake the team up a bit. Trading for a D man might not work but maybe a hockey trade of forwards.

As the season goes on, he's going to have to prepare the team to move into next season.
