The most fascinating part of this article is that EK used to be a musician! - TheUltimateJet
This isn’t new info. He has mentioned it many times before and some posters even had the album cover and some photos of Ek up. Don’t you recall when Ek was a big musician and he turned down a date with the one and only Shania?? |

I didn't research anything. Another reader did. I just find it amusing. This would be the equivalent of me saying that I was at the final Winnipeg Jets game in 1996. But instead of saying it was the Red Wings as the opponent I say it was against the Oilers, and their young leading scorer named Gary Valk. Wouldn't you chuckle that all of my details are wrong? - Kooleus

Ek,
Did you save the Predators franchise or turn down Shania first? |

8 paragraphs of nonsense about his "recording career" before he finally got to the hockey. Jeezuz, man. Unless you're gonna post YouTube links so we can laugh at your music, no one cares. "Me! Me! Me! Me! Me!" It's like you're 8. Smh |

Ouch, EK rebuttal? - bobbyisno1
Ek is like trump. Facts don’t matter. When someone points out your lies just ignore it. |

Did this all occur before or after you turned down Shania Twain?
I've been to Montreal when the Habs are playing in town, it was nothing to write home about unless you like bitter cold, dirty streets, ridiculous traffic and overpriced food and beer everywhere.
I would love to hear you talk more about the arrogance of Canadian hockey fans. - Kinger34
In his defence, Habs fans are probably the most intolerable, arrogant group in all of sports. |

I love it when there's more than a headline, a blurb and more to come on Hockeybuzz' front page. Great article Ek!
During an Oilers game last year in Nashville the reporters caught up with Ryan Smyth who's moved down there and he heaped the same sort of praise on the franchise and the city. Said it was an amazing hockey market. Now of course back in Edmonton a bunch of us reacted by keeping ourselves warm by burning his sweater, (sacrilege I know, but it happened). I tend to believe a guy like Smytty so maybe some time after 'rona I'll make the trip south.
So what was the album? |

invert that. the NFL needs guaranteed contracts like the NHL.
also, review your work - farooge
Yeah grammatical errors on my phone could care less. Contratcs shouldn't be garunteed unless both parties agree. Nfl has garunteed money on contracts NHL should follow suit. It eliminates the Loui Ericksons Ladds Lucic's of the world. |

Yikes. Johansson is more of a playmaker so I wouldn't expect a lot of goals, but Duchene is pretty disappointing just about everywhere he goes it seems. - mgriffen

He was already building a home in Nashville b4 the contract. He wants to be a singing star. There were reasons not to sign this lazy POS[/img] |

Growing up I wouldn't have believed it either but I moved here 25 years ago and now it would be almost impossible to convince me to live anywhere else.
It's a great city |

No, you're just an unpleasant rabble rouser.
And by definition ("as a Canadian") you would almost definitely be ignorant of the hockey scene in Nashville - just like I'm basically ignorant of the "scene" in, say, Winnipeg (or Buffalo, or Miami) - farooge

we'll agree to disagree then
I'd like to see the elimination of the NTC/NMC's though.

Well let's see, I'm good at sarcasm. I can juggle. Despite being an ignorant Canadian I'm actually very aware of world events. It helps that I studied in Europe, worked in Asia, speak 3 languages, and have travelled to more than 40 countries. I won't go into my connection to the sport, but based on the generous definition of a "source" you could say I'm a source. Haha. Oh I'm not bad at sports betting either. For example, I bet on Vegas and Washington to MAKE the playoffs. Looking good so far. |

I completely understand where you're coming from but I was replying to this .. which had nothing to do with players or systems
So as a Canadian, I'm apparently ignorant about the hockey scene in Nashville? I'm stuck in stereotypes? Hmm, not long ago there was a comment about Canada being frozen for 6 months of the year. No ignorance or stereotypes there... - Kooleus |

I never said you were ignorant (hockey wise, please don't snipe me), just unpleasant.
It's not like you don't make good points ... but (like ADA) it's just too much "other stuff" for me. |

I think if the degree of separation between me and another person was "dating" my sister, I might just let it pass.
But yeah, Duchene doing Duchene things might be maddening, but not unexpected. Or, at least it shouldn't be. Overhyped. A 20-goal season and a -10 should be all anyone expects of him. |

I think it's time for NSH to go into a rebuild. Sell everything off half price and move on. Rinne is done anyway. |

maybe, but I'd like to see how a new regime would handle it. burning it down seems extreme at this point |

It's a tough spot to be in. I wouldn't say these guys have bad contracts, but they are grossly under-forming them. NSH didn't make bad decisions, but they were good decisions that just didn't pan out.
It's weird position to be in because aside from Rinne, nobody on your team is old, so the first thought of a rebuild seems silly, but if you think about year after year of tweaks that won't work you could wind up looking back and thinking it was better to sell of the whole thing.
On a side note, this is a bad season to judge anything on. It's very hard to gauge if everything is a result of a weird year or a real decline. Us Pens' fans are wondering that with some of our players. |
