They wanted him to be eligible for the 2008 draft, arguing that he was only 5 days past the cut off (born on September 20th). The GM of the Maple Leafs tried to allow him to play in the AHL in his draft year to face stiffer competition (it was not allowed).

I have it in my mind that it was someone else.

And of course it somehow got spun that it was the Leafs trying to circumvent the draft, which was as pathetic as it was hilarious.

JT never really had any supporting cast on the Island.
I know McD doesnt have much either, but he has Drysaddle sometimes.

Tavares turned an ECHL forward into a perennial 30 goal man and a waiver wire player a 60 point player. It's interesting to think what he would have done with better players...yet Crosby had his best years with an undrafted Kunitz and an ECHL guy like Dupuis. Sometimes chemistry is real.

Freddy and Carey Price are crap this year and no one notices.

I've watched enough of both the Leafs and Habs this season to say with complete confidence that Roger (shockingly!) is wrong again about the goalies.

I do think the Leafs will get Bennet this year...I just don't know when. It could be closer to the TDL.

Both Lou and Dubas have been rumoured to like him over the years.

Lots of ways they can do it. Wonder if they would upgrade Kerfoot for this season...like Kerfoot to Sabres for Staal and a pick. Then send picks to CGY for Bennet.

It was Tavares I remember that

They did write the book themselves so it may have some bias in the title.
