Offensively ? Sure. Defensively ? No. Nope. Not really. A wash or barely an improvement. He was playing extremely sheltered even strength minutes on the bottom pairing for the rangers. Not to mention he only has 1 point this season.

He takes bad penalties too flying around the ice with a napoleon complex.

Bee Scott and tk could be a descent line. With Scott’s last game I think he will be flying around tonight. Give Hayes jvr and lindblom another game to see if more chemistry develops

You and I have multiple direct discussions this season on the Flyers issues as a team. So it's mind boggling for you to insinuate that I'm suggesting that the Flyers have been outplayed just due to the loss of Couturier in the lineup.

I think you are on to something, I do see these players as deferring more than leading, meaning they are looking to pass way too much. We don't have any forwards with the shoot first mindset, that confidence that says "I'm going to make something happen". This is serious gap with the forward group of the Flyers.

Actually I want to backtrack on this take a bit, because I do believe Voracek has this mindset, but he executes the mindset by pass first versus shoot first. Last night he executed a perfect give and go with G, drove to the net and finished it off, I would love to see him do that more often. I also want to praise Jake for really working on this 5 on 5 play, he is not perfect by any stretch, but you can see he is better than he has been on past seasons.

Yes, this is a really good point. The Flyers this year have moved to a 2-1-2 forecheck but I don't believe they have the players to pull this off successfully. Thus you are seeing what you saw last night, teams are able to gain speed in the neutral zone, dump the puck behind the Flyers D and then pinning them into their D-zone.

I completely disagree with you here. Gostisbehere played another solid game. He had a few miscues but otherwise solid. Especially with the way the Isles ramped up the pressure. You alluded to it yourself. Why does a defenseman hold onto the puck? He doesn't have an option.
Gustafsson is horrendous in his own end and is no comparison to the level that Gostisbehere is playing at. Gostisbehere has also done a good job getting pucks to the net since he's been back in the lineup.

Well it’s been said DeAngelo isn’t the greatest of people to deal with. I guess he was suspended for racial slurs in the OHL. I saw a clip of his father saying he grew up in south Philly and these slurs are natural to them. Major Trump guy, so I guess he has big opinions there that might rub people the wrong way, especially with New York being a major focus sports market.
