Obviously he did an excellent job at that time but everyone goes stale, no matter how good you are.

Shero won a Cup and then ran the team into the ground. Should have been fired. Bylsma won a Cup and then let the locker room implode and overplayed plugs. Should have been fired before Shero. Sullivan won back to back Cups too and now definitely needs to be fired.

Sometimes the magic just leaves.

JR was the best GM in the Crosby era. I was never more frustrated with the team than I was when we lost to the rangers in 2014.

Anyone who wants to talk sh!t about JR should talk to one of the many fans out there who would trade any player in their history along with their left nut for a single cup. JR a brought us two back to back.

There is a very real possibility that the league never sees a back to back champion again.

JR is a legend.

JR has such a weird legacy IMO. Obviously in 20+ years from now when people look back they will see he ushered in back-to-back cups and that's likely all that will be remembered.

JR giveth and JR taketh away. That's his legacy to me, but those two cup runs were some of greatest years to watch for this Penguins fan.

Sure is, I'll agree with that but he still effed the team in the a after his 2 cups. Do I care? Not really, because we got 2 cups and I'm for sure grateful for that, but I can see realize he screwed the pooch after that last cup.

Exactly where I’m at. Glad he’s gone but I’ll remember him positively. Those first few years have some of my best memories in them

I don't trust the stat counters. The one game where Jboyd showed the stat that Geno had one giveaway was off. However at the end of the year it'll all even out, but it's way too early to use those stats.

Oh yeah the stat counters at games are dog poop lol when I worked for the Lightning, I was talking to some of the NHL stat recorders and they are very "loose" with their recordings haha, especially the ones like hits, blocks, giveaway/takeaway, etc.

I actually was a stat counter for ND hockey as part of my student job in college. It’s also just (frank)ing impossible to be 100% accurate because the game moves so fast.

I did pretty much every home game my junior and senior year. I was on assists which was probably the easiest one, although in net front scrums it could be quite the female dog. Did not envy my friend who was the caller who basically his job was to talk out the game saying what numbers were preforming hits, shots, etc... as it happened in real time so people in charge of the stats could right it all down.

Already is, except for the standings.

This season was a crapshoot heading in and is now even more so. No idea whats going to happen. I said in the off season I thought that Sullivan would be fired by half way point and it would propel them upward when this happens...which was in part wishful thinking...

We'll see what happens...

The Hornqvist trade is more because of what they got back then anything. Some people, and I'm one, also care about the net front, but to others that was never a big deal. But almost everyone was ok with Hornqvist leaving in a bubble.

The thing I don't buy with a year too late is that I think with only 2 years on his deal you could have found a way to send him to Seattle, particularly if he has a halfway decent year like he is, rather than take back a bad contract.

- Tojo.

This is where I'm coming from, and I LOVE Horny. With Dumo, Petts, Riikola and POJ (who is obviously ready now), the very last thing this team needed was a LD. Yes, I thought we needed more scoring from the blue line, but it's not like Matheson is a huge point producer, anyway (although he does score a decent amount of goals).

And it's not like Matheson is just any LD. He is one with huge question marks about his play and one who makes a lot of money for a lot of years. That negatively impacts other positions on the team.

Owners should be hands off though. Active owners have lead to some of the worst ran teams across all leagues. I do think it’s totally in bounds for ownership to veto trades of your best players, especially when the GM has not had a very good recent sample of player evaluation. Trading Malkin should be a non-starter. If Letang is to be traded, I don’t want Rutherford to be the one in charge of doing so. Knowing him, he’d go for Rasmus Ristolanen or Aaron Ekblad.

Bobby kraft is hands on...except he is hands off in other ways....

hahah nice and yeah, I could see the front of net scums being hard to decipher when it goes in sometimes. Did anyone give you crap about missing an apple?

So you tracked apples...what else was ND tracking besides goals, apples and shots?

Except it's likely to be...

POJ/Letang
Marino/Ceci
Cuuz/Ruh

I could also see Sully trying this...
