Exactly. Needing a certificate to go anywhere or get a job is totalitarianism if I have ever seen it. First it will be for the vaccine. Then (as usual) governments will abuse it for other purposes, for example whether one has taken an oath to support the dominant political party. Soon all the Western nations will have become the old USSR and people without the certificate and who refuse to get it will be sent to gulags/concentration camps.
The just thing to do would be to wait until about, say, 50-70% of the people in a country are vaccinated (all who want to be) and then pass a federal law that prohibits suing anyone over covid-19 for any reason. Then, those who are not vaccinated have to accept responsibility themselves if they go to a game and get covid-19 there. - PghPens668771

Soon we'll all be walking around with microchips in our pockets while cartels of companies sell our information to insidious mind control agencies who profit off of manipulating our subconscious and making us give them our money. |

it will not work in States. It is wide open for a discrimination lawsuit. Because you may not want the vaccine due to religious reasons or just not have faith in the drug since long term effects have not been observed. They should not be penalized from watching games live. Its almost like saying - if you are gay you cant come in. - JonnyGar
Since when do you have a right to watch hockey games?
The arenas search your bags etc when you go in, though people generally have the right to not be unlawfully searched.
You give up certain rights when you want to participate in activities that are not essential. traveling by air and attending hockey games are not an essential part of your life.
And comparing vaccinations to being gay? |

For the States atleast, these vaccinations are about free market enterprise. Already seeing companies buying up getting their employees vaccinated.
Their folks come back to work before the competition, they become a "preferred employer" due to vaccine. If business can get a competitive advantage they will. Enough will do this to drive everyone to have to do it.
This is how we end up getting everyone vaccinated. Govt may have help foot the bill to get the vaccine designed and prioritized. Free market will get it administered to the working public. - Gerk
That's great except for one small detail: it's not true. There are no vaccines that are being distributed directly to the vibrant free. If a government, which has purchased the vaccine, deems that a sector or company is essential, they will allow them to get access to vaccines.
That's it. Some countries like Mexico and Indonesia are allowing private purchases and high paying medical services are trying to help their rich patients to cut the line. Maybe some are. But this is a government show, not the free market baby |

How can you read a book, when you can't even comprehend 2 short sentences?
- StargateSG1
Your two sentences together in that post made as much sense as a 4 year old would make.

The US has been a satirical comedy written and produced by the Onion for 20 years. Every year I'm amazed it gets renewed because it's just too absurd to be believed. |

I am not going to rush to get a vaccine that had very limited stage 3 trials.
Even if that means missing whats left of the partial season.
With the current state of LA can't see any games being played anyways. |

Even though I'm getting one as soon as it's available I can respect your decision.
At least you are being responsible about it and are not expecting to attend games if not vaccinated.

Wedgie... this is not satirical ... it is just a reflection of the moronic pseudo intellectual baffle gab which is being circulated by the "average citizens" of the USA.
within Leafs nation we refer to it as the insanity that unites us all.
with the US ... COVID is the pandemic which has clearly illustrated the intellectual limitations of a vast majority of the population.
short comment - you can't fix stupid.

Front line workers yes. Then working population. They are vulnerable in different ways. Seniors should be isolated anyway. If the working population is under these measures through this year then there will be far bigger problems than having a bunch of seniors die. That may sound a bit harsh, but it’s the truth. - TurdFergeson "Having a bunch of seniors die", yeah, I'd say that's more than a bit harsh. Ford has been months behind through this whole pandemic. Blame him for the economic catastrophe. Ask the children of residents at Roberta Place where 45 of 125 residents are dead how the isolation of the elderly has gone so far.
