To do that, you need to isolate the staff as well. And their families, and the places they shop for essentials... It's just not that easy.

My mom is a front line worker and a senior. She’s in the hospital 4 days a week working. But she has not gotten a vaccine shot yet because there are 80-90 year olds in long term care getting vaccinated that never leave their complex. That’s messed up.

Does the vaccine ensure you will not get the Covid virus or does it only mitigate the severity if you get it like the flu vaccine? There are no guarantees with either I think.

Leafs players don't want their fans back, the building has never been louder than this season.

And I totally agree with you there. Those serving the ill should be priority 1. End of line.

It doesn’t guarantee you won’t get it. But with “herd immunity” the cases go way way down to almost being eliminated but not quite.

Front line workers yes. Then working population. They are vulnerable in different ways. Seniors should be isolated anyway. If the working population is under these measures through this year then there will be far bigger problems than having a bunch of seniors die. That may sound a bit harsh, but it’s the truth.
- TurdFergeson

Yes it does sound harsh.

The "working population" that are not within the most vulnerable ages can wait a little longer. The vaccines are coming. No point in more seniors dying just so someone can go back to work 2 or 3 months earlier.

What are the "far bigger problems" than people dying?

Are you not seeing the millions out of work? The mental health issues going through the roof? People losing business and homes? If this all continues through 2021 there will be nothing for many otherwise capable people to go back to.

Job losses are worse than deaths?
And you think taking vaccinations away from the seniors in LTCs will put those millions back to work?

Also, you realize Trudeau does not decide who gets vaccinated right? That's under Provincial control. So blame the Premiers and their medical advisors.

The Penguins had an imminent trade with Winnipeg that never actually happened.

The Penguins are in discussions about Vince Dunn. Nothing has happened.

Now the Penguins GM quits.

What are sources saying here?

Yeah, I really don;t understand how a source would know the Pens are having specific trade talk with STL but not know that either a) Rutherford wasn't doing the negotiating for Pittsburgh or b) Rutherford was about to quit. Seems like if you were close enough to know one of those things you'd have an inkling of the other. A real mystery.

It's state/provincial and local ordinances that determine when/how many fans can attend and any related requirements for admission.

Exactly. Needing a certificate to go anywhere or get a job is totalitarianism if I have ever seen it. First it will be for the vaccine. Then (as usual) governments will abuse it for other purposes, for example whether one has taken an oath to support the dominant political party. Soon all the Western nations will have become the old USSR and people without the certificate and who refuse to get it will be sent to gulags/concentration camps.

The just thing to do would be to wait until about, say, 50-70% of the people in a country are vaccinated (all who want to be) and then pass a federal law that prohibits suing anyone over covid-19 for any reason. Then, those who are not vaccinated have to accept responsibility themselves if they go to a game and get covid-19 there.

Have the Penguins been vaccinated from being a lottery team? (Right now, the Flyers might be a lottery team, as well.).

Ek IS the Penguins GM. It all makes sense now. He's been trying to trade Malkin for the past 17 years so he can be The Man.

it will not work in States. It is wide open for a discrimination lawsuit. Because you may not want the vaccine due to religious reasons or just not have faith in the drug since long term effects have not been observed. They should not be penalized from watching games live. Its almost like saying - if you are gay you cant come in.

This only counts official claims. There are many many more that aren’t working but are still being supported by stimulus programs. If it continues this way we will see much much higher official numbers.
