Ok, well, if his offense is or is projected to be as prolific as Shatts, sign me up. Not sure who we ship out, though, if we plan on keeping him beyond this year. If not, that's an expensive rental.
Then again, this feels like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. - Hockey66
Hes been buried behind depth so play time limited. Think hes is under team control after this year as well. |

I'm open to this last few trades we have done w Pens have worked out well. - Gerk
Yeah our GM shoots trades from the hip, sometimes hits, but misses an awful lot...but no need to be a Gerk about it. Jk. Welcome to these parts.
Ive been seeing reports of the Blues wanting a 1st for him. Is he worth that in your opinion? |

Jarry is going to have to be in all-star mode and the Pens are going to have to play Islanders hockey. |

I'm totally serious. The team is going to have to just clog up the lanes and play boring hockey. If they try and open the game up at all they are going to murdered. |

Sometimes teams tighten right up in light of massive amounts of injuries. Goalies like tight teams.
Remember last season when the Pens were down 5 of their top 9 forwards by game 4? hahah its all so familiar, now its the D.
My faith in Sullivan the past few season was slightly renewed when they were extremely banged up. Going to be an interesting few weeks.

Good...this will forge the strong defensive tendencies and habits they need and will pay dividends towards the end of season and playoffs...
...or that's the best case scenario, anyway hahah |

I like that you think they will keep it up when they get healthy. |

I think the last couple trades we did we still have every player on the roster and Pens have zero.
That Reaves trade saved us since we had to use a first to dump the Lehtera contract.
After the picks were made i think it ended up being Reaves and some finnish goalie for Sunquist and Thomas. - Gerk
You won the Reaves trade but the Cole-Bortuzzo trade helped both teams and probably made a larger impact for the Pens. Cole was a really good #5 for us on the way to two cups and you guys got a much cheaper 6/7 for a role Cole was overqualified for. I think both teams remake this trade any day of the week. |

hahah i dont really think anything. I thought this season was somewhat of a crapshoot heading into it, now with all these injuries even more so.
I just got a Fantasy alert that second that Rask is now day to day. Another player that looked pretty injured but then ended up finishing the game last night...wonder if Marino is actually good today....

per Penguins:
"Jim Rutherford has resigned as general manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins, citing personal reasons.
Patrik Allvin, the team's assistant general manager, has been promoted to interim GM, and the search for a new GM will begin immediately."

Holy poop. Is he sick? That’s really the only explanation. I’m not upset he’s gone, clearly he lost it in 2018, but I hope he’s ok. |

Mannnn...you just never know what the F is gonna happen, do ya?
Holy sh!t. JR is gone. Must be health related. |
|
|
|
First, you hope Rutherford is okay and is either healthy or on the path to getting healthy. I know we give him a hard time here (and much of it deserved), but he turned this team from a playoff underperformer into a back-to-back championship team.
I think they need to go with someone outside of the organization. This team needs a fresh look at its assets and where to go from here. |
