The last time the rangers finished higher than 50% face off percentage was 2008-09
- Rangers99

Quinn said in the post game that he thought the team has been good on face offs other than last night. Said the leagues way to calculate a win/loss was inaccurate. Not a huge fan of excuses like that, it’s pretty blatantly obvious they are terrible in the dot.

Every single person collecting a paycheck by the NYRs is at fault. From JD/Gorton all the way down to Blackwell/Rooney. Some more than others, sure, but they've shown up for one stinking game.

Probably speaking for most fans right now: I'm just plain old frustrated and disappointed.

- Bean_Dip

15 goals scored right now in 6 games

they really still look exactly like they did in the bubble

Well Quinn doesn't seem like the solution either. He is just kind of there
- TPC

Well, remember when AV was the problem too? Seems to be doing ok in Philly. Maybe its the players

AV was soft, he didn't want his players to play tough, blah, blah, blah. Well Quinn is the complete opposite of AV and the same problems exist.

Is he though? I don't know Quinn seems just as soft as AV with his system haha.

They aren't any tougher to play against at least IMO

Thats the thing, Quinn wants them to be a tough team to play against. He has said it over and over. Eventually it lands on the players. Two different coaches, two different styles, same results

There’s too much to pick apart, we have a few positives, Miller, Fox and Blackwell apparently

After last season we were supposed to keep moving forward, another lottery pick is a failure, we don’t need more youth or prospects, what’s we’ve accumulated and the potential is enough, we should be making the playoffs, I think it’s concerning to the future

The difference to me is that AV's message did get through. He took the team to the cup and conference finals in back to back years. I know he had better players but the players bought in to that system. Every coach just has its end point and his was 5 years.

For some reason over half the team doesn't seem to be buying into Quinn's system.

well bottom line though, finishing in the top 4 of this division was always going to be very difficult and they are already 6 points out

it was a year with 14 million in dead cap space anyway, one more top prospect added to the cupboard isn't worst thing in the world

That was the worst powerplay I have seen in a long time. Up 2.5 men and no one moved. Everyone just stood there making dumb passes around the perimeter
- TPC

i know PP1 is stacked, but i for some am completely sick of the PP combo.

PP1 stays on the ice for 3/4 of the powerplay - and yeah they keep posession by slamming the puck around the boards to fox or panarin, but there's no movement towards the net. everything w/ this team is on the outside.

look at the couzins goal last night. win the faceoff, two quick passes and a high quality shot, goal.

that's irrelevant though, they are awful right now. we all just wanted to see progress and the team is going backwards. regardless of where they finished standings wise, there is no difference from the bubble to now. i'd argue they're worse now than they were in the bubble

all JD/Gorts said was being harder to play against. This team is the easiest to play against in the entire league. no physical threat, no grind. just try and make beautiful passes and miss the net

Not the worst thing in the world, but that reoccurring story is getting old

I'm not concerned for the future, I'm just bummed about this seemingly lost season

I agree, I just put the blame on the players. Yeah, Quinn as coach is responsible and he will be held responsible, but I don't see this changing until the players decide to change. They look like they are going through the motions except for Buch, Fox, Miller and Kakko.

We might be the only team left that isn't trying to utilize the guy in the slot on the PP.

Yea and people can blame no preseason and no training camp as an excuse but maybe only 1 or 2 other teams look as bad as the Rangers right now. I just don't get it. They just seem not interested at times.

Maybe the Rangers just don't want to play during a pandemic with no fans.

I agree though you can't change all the players, why the coach makes the most sense. I just think they need to do something. Cause what we are watching is trash most nights lol

Yea that's my point, I just don't get it. Why I think a coaching change may need to be made. Maybe it's not Quinn's fault but they can't keep throwing this product on the ice.

100%

if they lose again tomorrow, it needs to be seriously discussed.

Yup, Quinn will get the axe if there is another 10 games of this. That would be my bet.

I blame the leadership of this team more than Quinn though. You watch Kreider, Zib, Trouba on the bench and in interviews, they sound like extremely low testosterone robots.

I'd rather a message just be sent to the players. play all the damn kids and either bench the vets or put them in the bottom 6 and reduce their playing time
