Who’s been the worst penguin on the team this year? Malkin or Letang?

This looks like B's sweep in the ECF years ago. Pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, muffin. They bring in Hornqvist and win two cups. Somehow trading him away seemed like a good idea to the GM.

Sully should have been gone mid season two or so seasons ago when he had a tantrum about reeves and wouldn't play him. This kinda bs has been going on too long, favoring players like sheary and erod and not using Ruth's players unless it makes Ruth look bad.. like jj.
Letang should have been traded when we won a cup without him(he had a lot of value then). tanev should have been with sid DAY 1..still isn't there. He's the exact player sid thrives with.

Firing sully doesn’t solve all the problems but it sends a strong message. Wake up call for sure.

I have no trouble firing Sully, but I'm not sure that solves their problems. Some of these guys just look like they've lost a step.

I don't think most of them have lost a step. I just think for stretches of time in games their team game loses speed due to disjointed no cohesiveness slop. I do think the D has a lot of blame. It's a mess because of injuries and not only that but the guys we should be able to count on are not playing that well. You mentioned Dump, I agree, he hasn't been quite back to where he was. Tanger has been pretty bad with the decisions a lot of slop from him so far this season. Marino is crap on his offside and I don't fault the kid for that at all. Even Sid has done north of a dozen errant behind the back passes that I can recall so far. Geno overplayung everything...and even through that stuff there's periods of time so far this season that are very solid hockey and they look impressive haha.

Their PP has killed them tonight. I don't think speed is near as important for PP as it is for ES. They have to figure out the PP hahah and I think it's pretty possible they can.

HCMS needs to go and I agree with the guys who have called for his head two years ago. Enough already .

I do have to agree with the playing favorites and botching the use of Reaves and I know most will agree he did the same w/ Cole that season. I know we won two cups, but if we kept them and used both players properly we may have had an additional cup. I agree with what has been said in past forums that this team is easy to play against. This team still misses both players. We have too many similar players which is easy for teams to play against.

It's not just the lack of grit in key areas. It's the predictability of their game. You don't win cups doing all your scoring off the rush. Teams know about all the east/west stuff.

I was going to mention Cole too, but its been numerous these kinds of examples. Then you get into line make up and the guy has lost it for years. Mentions were made when the trades and acquisitions of Tanev Zucker and Kap coming in for sid...and they don't play with Sid...barely. I love sid and Jake but Geno needs Jake more than Sid. And Rust is just fine with Geno aswell.

Maybe if it is a stale cap year again, we will make some major changes this offseason.

Side note: I hope Dumolin isn't out long term...we are running out of LHD

I have a feeling the Pens are getting shut out tonight. One-dimensional play.

Omg yes, Rask is tuned in and he's not even being tested. He's blocking beach balls out there.

Murray would have let in 5-6 beach balls by now.

Seems like the teams that do well against the Penguins figure out their game quite early and don’t have to change a damn thing. That seems to me that it’s on the coach ... no imagination, no adjustment. Just toot the same old horn. And if they pull out a win, talk about “resiliency” of the group. Give me a break.

To me this team has more then enough speed and in my opinion depth is totally fine. I know everyone hates the “grinder” type players around here but this team doesn’t have enough of them and has maybe 2 total which isn’t enough to me. Tanev and jankowski. Call me crazy but I think they win this game
