Id actually remove Guentz from the first unit and put O'Conner in front. Just to leave a righty out there on the first unit. Kap was on the second unit.

Yeah I get the right handedness factor but to my eyes Rust looks a bit lost on the PP, I know they all do, but he's sticking out the worst to me on that PP, him or Geno...and Geno isn't going anywhere.

if the players who are running the PP, i.e. Sid, Letang, Geno aren't running it the way the coaching staff is instructing them then those little tweaks are fairly irrelevant. It's up to them to dictate the play on the ice, so if they aren't trying to create more movement, then it doesn't matter who else you put out there.

I agree.

Their 1st PP needs to play with more urgency and hustle.

Rich cucks are bearish on the stock and shorting it, then buying additional back to cut their loss from shorting, causing exponential stock increase at their own expense.

If the Pens even had a so-so PP they'd be in a better position right now. It's not even good enough to be meh.

I can't fathom that as much as I loved Phil, that he was the sole reason that PP thrived.

Hornqvist was a bigger reason. As I kept hammering, the PP scored at twice the rate when he was on it compared to off. Kessel, Sid, Malkin, Letang all have positive impact, but it wasn't even close.

They do however also miss Phil though I'm not sure where his game is at right now. But they essentially removed both from the top PP a year ago and have struggled tremendously since. The only saving grace last year was with so many injuries, Hornqvist got a lot of time there anyways and it improved, but that's not going to happen this year.

I'd consider taking Rust off it and putting O'Connor net front. It seemed to me last night that's where the kid wants to be. They had him on the 2nd unit...that scored and he had an assist on it. I mean, the 1st PP unit cant get any worse, so why not try it out haha.

Like 66710 said, O'Connor really plays Guentzel's spot. He may be an improvement and was around the net, but he wasn't really setting an effective screen, just looking for tips and rebounds. But that's what Guentzel largely does too.

If Rust goes off, Kapanen should get a look. They were supposed to compete in training camp, just didn't happen.

Geno could of ended it a few times. Geno could of scored a few last night.

Geno will start doing that stuff again, its only a matter of time before he's finishing...and the one time he did finish it this year it was a very nice one tee clapper to the shelf, which we hadnt seen a lot of the last few years.

Geno will soon breakthrough.

Agree a better showing from Geno last night. Hopefully it's just a confidence and short camp problem and not the conditioning problem I feared.

They claimed he looked great in camp, but he could’ve looked good, n still not have any stamina. Pretty sure he didn’t want to shoot on the 3-0 because he hit the cross bar on his prior chance. Looked better, but def in his own head.

Yannick Weber signed pending waivers. That must mean bad news.
