a thought that's run through my head a few times the past few days was that if this was normal times, and the QMJHL was having a normal season with how Lafreniere has looked after 5 games, would the Rangers send him back after 9 games not to burn his first year of ELC?

I don't think so. He would have had the benefit of camp and exhibition games. Plus the obvious that he's the 1st overall pick. Look at Hughes in his second season, took a year to acclimate and is now lighting it up.

I actually think Laf looks like he belongs just isnt getting the points yet. Kakko looked way worse last year.
