I don't like demoting Zucker, but I am very intrigued to watch that 3rd line and see what Blueger can do with those wings. |

Tanev is a good player but I think a lot of people are overestimating what he’d bring to a top 6 line. He’s an energy guy playing real well on some defensive lines. I do think spot shifting him with Crosby or Malkin in the middle of games that he’s playing particularly well could be a good idea, but having him play out games with Crosby I don’t think will lead to good results.
And since I know someone is going to respond with “bUt RoDrIgUeS”, this isn’t me defending having Rodrigues on the first line. He’s a 13th forward and it’s indefensible to keep him glued to that line. But the way to take Rodrigues off the top line is to stop (frank)ing about and put Kapanen up there, or if you’re really worried about his conditioning/system familiarity, put McCann up there until he’s ready. - Victoro311
Sully has said he doesn't like bumping Guentzel out if position, which is why you likely won't see them on the same line again. So RW choices are Rust, Kapanen, ERod, Tanev, or Sceviour. If Kapanen isn't deemed a top line option yet and Rust is already on Geno's wing, it's pretty much Tanev or ERod.
I agree with you on Tanev probably not doing as well as some people think, but I also have to agree he's the best option. |

Yeah I mean if those are the choices, then by all means Tanev over Rodrigues. But also Tanev isn't some lock to do well with Crosby like some people pretend he is. |

I'm not expecting Tanev to be some scorer on the first line. Sure he'll pot in what he usually does but he brings waayyy more than Rod. |

I can't stand watching Rod up on the first line anymore, however I do like the third line so we'll see how that goes. Maybe McCann gets his ass going up on the second line. And Guentz needs to get going. But it's not helping who his opposing winger is.. |

I'm not sure if it's what I was supposed to see, but the stat that jumped out the most on j.boyd's table was ERod's xGA of almost 4, and Sid and Jake's somehow being lower despite playing almost exclusively with them. That tells me they would benefit just from having someone who could help them get the puck back on defense. |

It's amusing, at least to me anyway, that Geno's line finally was starting to really get going and dominant last game, Sid's line hasnt show much of anything, but Geno's gets chopped up and Sid's stays the same hahah |

I don’t think anyone has ever said tanev is a first line player. But he is the best option if they aren’t using kapanen. He will bring a certain tenacity with him that might help that Erod doesn’t have. Some of you guys just need a reason to female dog. |

I would be fine with everything if E rod wasn’t still SIDS winger. Tanev will be the heartbeat if the team and find success on any line. That’s why he makes the big bucks, and is worth every penny. McCan better come out with an edge and a shoot first mentality. Zucker has been ok but despite is tattoos he plays like kind of a puss puss. Sceviour will probably bang one in and be regarded as a mistake. |

Yea at this point our top 3 RW are Rust, Kap and Tanev. And I'd rather give Tanev that spot on the first line then bum ass Rod. And I agree I wanna see McCann shooting as much as possible. He has a good wrist shot. |

I just want to see Tanev sowing mayhem for more minutes a game. |

Hope Kapanen is deemed ready for top line duty soon, because I really see the Dupuis comparison. A couple smart guys like Sid and Jake will read well off the chaos his speed is creating. |

Ceci and poj looking good so far. Minus that whiff of the puck by poj on that clear. For a skinnier dman though he plays pretty physical in his own end. Always pushing someone around. Hopefully with age he bulls up a bit. Both adding some presence in their own zone. Malkin really needs a shoot first mentality though. |

I don't really have much of a problem with the line blender by Sullivan. It's not like this team is flying around dominating. The only thing I really hate is Erod on the 1st line. |

Yea he's been solid all around with speed, shooting, hitting and making plays happen. He's not a pure passer but his speed brings guys to him and he passes to wide open guys. |

How many redirected goals against Jarry so far this season? I can think of 4 or 5 and I haven't seen all the goals against him. |

It's not the "lines". It's the players comprising the lines. |
