I dont know what people expect, we're a waning team, making the playoffs is a good season for us, once in who knows, Sid gets hot and can win a series, Malkin can do the same, get hot goaltending and youre gonna do well - stackthepads
Basically that's it. All I want. They won three cups went to 4 finals. I'm happy with everything they've done. |

People expect that the GM will exercise good asset management. That hasn't happened. - Rinosaur
I disagree, I think JR is doing a good job trying to squeeze that few drops out of the Sid/Geno era. |

Ehh I still hate the Matheson trade. With Rikki and POJ there it seemed really...dumb.. |

Want to say, easily Jarry's best game this season. Hope he can build off it. |

I dont really like that trade either, Im a hornqvist fan but I understand why he made it. MM is a great skater, can shoot, there is potential for something there. Too bad he got injured right away and we didnt get a chance to see.

Man I wish you didn't make that comparison... - Tojo.
The Steelers actually played good the first 5 games then the offense dipped(run game) and they still were winning because Ben was still throwing well and th defense wasn't tired. Then with lower possession time because of zero run game the defense wore out and also got injured. The Pens haven't played good yet and have already taken injuries and are somehow winning. Get it together and we can be a good team. |

I've been tooting this horn for 2 years now but I dont think its happening. Ownership is not paying another coach |

Yes, hopefully he will. Honestly both Jarry and Desmith have been dealing with some bullpoop plays because the skaters are acting like boneheads. |

Right, let's say Matheson does pan out, now JR has to make another trade because we have a log jam. It's like he makes trades to set himself up to make another and another and another... domino's lol. I can be the EK for the pens lol |

Yea they def will make that play in the off-season. They are young and need to learn how to protect a lead. Pens will make the PO this year. - nyrangers2
I think Strome is a legit 2C. I hate the Rags but fear them the most in the next 10 years or so. My only hope is that Panarin and Kreider decline and their contracts become albatrosses and maybe Shesterkin doesn't develop as it looks like he will. Otherwise, I think they dominate. Just too much talent and too many good young players who will be on cheap contracts. TBL, BOS, WAS, and PIT (and even PHI) are all about to age out. |

I mean, the Steelers played one complete game all season (first Browns game). They mostly played 30 minutes games. Eventually that catches up to you. Honestly, I thought the Rags were the better team again tonight. Most of it anyway. They shanked at least 5 wide open shots. The last one with 5 seconds left.
Obviously plenty of time to correct things. I'm confident several of our players will get better.

Geno can't get any worse. Probably one of the worst games I've ever seen him play. |

Carolina will have a lot to say though.
Philly is hard to tell. They have a lot of young talent that should improve, but they also have a lot of guys starting to age out. I'm not sure where that leaves them as far as building towards a Cup contender. |

Good point about CAR, but they don't have a goalie and I don't think their young talent is on the level of NYR overall (or just the sheer number). NYR is loaded. Who knows, maybe they'll all command big contracts around the same time before they win a Cup. |

Carolina really does need to look into getting a goalie. |

Rangers will end up moving strome and Tony d along with a winger for a legit 2c in offseason. Carolina is def up there. They also have a better system and coach. Quinn isn’t the long term answer

By gassing assets and cap space on bad players that he needs to get rid of after a year or two? Come on man. JR has been off since 2018. |

Do you get a new contract if you go from assistant coach to head coach? Have to think it would be velluci or reirdon. I’d think it’s more that ownership is sticking w/ jr, and jr is sticking w/ sully.
Glad reirdon is back, but don’t think I want him as the head coach. I don’t really know much about velluci tho, other than people seem to hold him in high regard. Did he win ahl championship or something? |

Sullivan is in the first year of a four year contract, he's not going anywhere. It doesn't even matter what contract Rutherford has, he can be placed into other positions in the organization as opposed to being canned. If a move is going to made it will be GMJR rather than HCMS.
Rutherford is signed thru 21-22. |

The Pens had Dumo, Pettersson, Riikola and POJ on the left side. While POJ was an unknown, how was trading for another LD on a huge immovable contract to play the third pair wise asset management? Even if he envisions Matheson as a 2nd pairing LD, he didn’t need one even a little.
This trade had a major negative trickle down effect on the Pens bottom six. |

This is it. Waiting another season or two to see if Matheson works or not? No time to fix this one. That contract can’t be moved and buying it out would be a disaster. |
