Lemieux just scored that famous goal.

Barrasso is the real unsung hero though.

- Aetherial

Yeah everyone hated Tommy Barrasso but he was VERY good for the Pens in those 2 Cup runs. I remember being so angry as a kid when he beat out Steve Yzerman for rookie of the year. 🤣

I tried this move(s) once. I received a cross check to the face and my coach telling me to never (frank)ing do that poop ever again.

Watching a classic finals game, Minnesota against Pittsburgh...

That Pittsburgh team has Lemiuex, Jagr, Stevens, Recchi, Francis, Mullen, Coffey, Murphy ...

Unfortunately, there's a ton of sad stories about ex-NHLers.

But Stevens has to be one of the worst.

I spent a year in a h.s. outside Minneapolis, a place called Wayzata to live with my sister. It was an interesting place with a good chunk of kind of middle and upper middle class commuters, farm kids and some very rich kids. Unlike in other places, the rich kids went to the local high school. This was 1970-71.

Obviously I didn’t know anyone but would bring my frisbee in and make some acquaintanceships that way. One guy I got to know was Joe, another long hair and I became buddies. He was a cool guy but the only thing I could never figure out was why all the preppy girls were all over him. He paid no attention to them and it was weird.

I figured it out the first we drove to his place to pick him up. We pulled onto a private road, drove for a mile past a lake to an absolute castle.

Anyway, turns out his dad, besides being a big time Republican, businessman, etc was one of the (I think original) owners of the North Stars. We went to a couple of games and the place was empty. I remember the seats were all different colours, maybe to make it look less empty.

His place was so big, he would hide kids in there for weeks without anyone seeing him. Go North Stars!

Imagine taking Juolevi over Tkachuk, Keller, Sergachev, et al.

Brutal.

Ok. Kids who had been kicked out the house by their parents would live there for a few weeks and since the place was so big no one knew they were there.

It’s really a story of final stage capitalism.
