Should we start a PLD pool?
Winnipeg- Laine + Roslovic
Montreal - Mete, Suzuki and 1st
Anaheim - Zegras + Silfverberg
Calgary - Backlund, Bennett and Kylington
Ottawa - White, Formenton, 2nd
LA - Vilardi, Turcotte, Bjornfot
TO - Kerfoot, Dermott, Liljegren - mr.sir
So...Toronto trades meh players while the Peg trades their top goal scorer and Montreal trades an up and coming potential star? |

Ya, not sure it's even close. Laine is soooo much better than anything else on that list. Respect to Suzuki but he's not in Laine's world even with all of Laine's contract concerns.
I'd expect CLB is topping up on a Dubois for Laine deal. |

How much of that sub 900 is just the residue of the first two games. Goaltending seeming to be less of an issue - Canada Cup
Its totally the first two games.
edm - .938
edm - .905
wpg - .964
ott - .792
Mtl - .875
That Ottawa game....yeesh. Ugly.
But haters gonna hate.

They look like nothing has changed. They will win their fair share of games out of sheer skill, and some effort, once in a while.
They should be forced to watch film of the Habs. I hate the Habs more than any other team, but they work. If the Leafs worked as hard as the Habs, they would win the cup. - Aetherial
I hear what you're saying ..first two games were total WTF. Last 3 has been a lot more responsible play - short passes, safe plays, tighter checking, better positioning. Classic good ..bad ...good ...bad from them.
But I've seen some meaningful change. Keefe has done some in-game discipline sending messages to work harder/smarter.
Most important for me is that JT and AM have both looked more engaged then they did last year and both are in better shape. Marner too ..I think.
I'm not prepared to say it's changed bc like you said they've done this in small samples before BUT, I'm a leaf fan so I'll build up some hope from these last 3 games and pray for more while expecting to be disappointed. |

Ah ok, sorry my bad. I thought it was another case of leafers really bumping up the trade of value of Leafs players.
I would do the Montreal trade, Montreal wouldnt. But I dont think Laine would sign long term in Cbus. |

I think the last 3 games they've worked hard and not made many mistakes, lot better goaltending too.

Cause we went so many years with only one good center.
Now its time to load up on centers.
Trade for Malkin, have him back up Andersen. |

Turcotte
Kaliyev
Vilardi
Bjornfot
Clague
Kempe
Lots of good options, and can save cap space for elsewhere |

Calgary too.
Calgary would have to include one of Monohan or Gaudreau or Tkachuk.
Ottawa's nice pieces are probably too young to make sense.
it all seems to come back to Winnipeg or Montreal I think.
Torts will want ready to contribute young offence.
Not to beg a debate but the Leafs deal would be interesting if CLB thought highly of Willie. |

Call me crazy but I'd do that trade and worry about it later.
PLD is a big, fast, responsible centre at 5m x 2. Worry about that in 2022 if the trade is Nylander. Put JT or PLD on the wing and ride that pony to back to back Cups. |

The jets one just seems to fit. Disgruntled guy for disgruntled guys. Both about the same age, both highly touted high picks, both forwards.
If Laine is indeed the offer there isn't much anyone else can offer to compare.

And saves some cap space this year, which is tight and allows them to accrue $$ so they can add a peice at the deadline. |

100%
Finnish GM trading for elite Finnish superstar and home town boy (Roslovic). Dubois' Dad works for Winnipeg.
It's almost too perfect.

BJS trading for Laine makes zero sense. His contract is up and I don't see him wanting to stay. Targeting one of Montreals centres would be smarter |
