Somebody said in a previous thread that JM had autonomy over the D. So yeah, It's hard to ignore that NY signed him.

The hockey writers mentioned dermott in Toronto. Zadarov on Chicago and Merrill in Detroit. Merrill would be like the equivalent of Ruhw it would seem. I wouldn’t mind zadaroz on the team though. Pretty physical. Need that!

Yeah I guess he was expendable it Colorado. He’s 3.2m in the last year of a contract. I wouldn’t pay much based on stats but this team needs some nastiness somewhere.
