So what if Kekäläinen really wants a centerman back? Do you include a player like Stasny, Perfetti, copp along with Laine and Roslovic? It would obviously have to include werenski or Jones in that case |

Adding any one of those guys doesn't mean Columbus is adding Werenski or Jones, either of those two have a lot of value, the Jets would have to add considerably to get one of them included and really I don't see Columbus trading either of them. |

I think PLD will be a completely different player away from Torts. Like, who wants to play for him?
But, PLD not playing in CBS, Patrik not playing in The Peg. Makes you wonder, doesn't it? - grahamzky
Agree Pomo has no issue with 55 dogging it and not back checking so can’t see him giving Dubois any issues if he takes some shifts off 😂 |

His dad is an assistant coach with the Moose. I think he would not mind being closer to his dad. - TheUltimateJet
Being out east, I honestly wasn't aware that his father was in WPG with the Moose. Let's face it, PLD will rely heavily on advice from his father as most young adults in their 20's would. This does honestly change my views on the matter quite a bit. Let's see what transpires here. One thing I am certain of is that Roslovic would be elated to be playing back in his hometown of Columbus and would most certainly be part of any deal. Would Roslovic and a 1st be enough for PLD ? The minute Laine gets mentioned in any deal then for certain a good RHD needs to be coming back here as well. Jets have an abundance of LHD. So if there were some blockbuster trade it might look more like this
To Wpg : PLD and Seth Jones
To Columbus : Roslovic, Laine, Poolman, and a 2021 2nd.
That's basically Laine for PLD and then Roslovic , Poolman , and a 2nd for Jones. Seems fair to me.
The best part of this deal s that the Jets are playing pretty good without Laine and Roslovic and Poolman in the lineup. Therefore this deal is all upside ...in theory. |

I'm not sure that Chevy won that deal but it is what it is. I'm very sure Laine is not happy being sent to Columbus while Roslovic will be ecstatic. I personally thought with Laine showing up this year in beast mode and PLD showing the opposite that the Jets might have done better. Laine is an RFA one year earlier so I'm sure that weighed in on the equation. Laine would also cost more down the road.

And the Jets are apparently retaining 25% on Laine, what a joke! Chevy lost this big time! |

Agree with you
PLD for laine
Roslovic for a third
Now ask yourself. Which player is likely to stay in their new market. PLD Canadian boy or laine whose agent wants 10 + for his client?
I view this as a hockey trade. Laine will be a beast but not in Winnipeg or Columbus. Winnipeg MAY have a chance keeping PLD.
Either way a little disappointing weren’t able to make a bigger deal landing werenski as well. |

And Laine would be worth every penny, Jets might be retaining 25% on Laine, sorry but Chevy lost another trade big time! |

The deal definitely has repercussions in the lineup.
I assume PLD becomes the #2 Center. Does Statsny move to the 3rd line Center and Lowry to the LW ? Is Copp now LW on line #2 or does Vesalainen get a crack at that spot ? |

I couldn't care less about the $1.3 MM the Jets retain for this year. Laine might be out a few more weeks so the retention is compensation for that.
Don't forget that Laine wanted out and Chevy would have fielded all the best and final offers from other teams before he pulled the trigger.

If Dubois resigns into ufa years with Jets and Laine doesn’t resign with Columbus then that is a win for Winnipeg. If neither extend it is a wash and a fair hockey trade, Jets get an extra year, save money and lose a headache. |
