I was told Matthews should take matters into his own hands, he should take a high shot on Mcdavid.
mcdcvid anf Matthews both being injured is good for the game. - Santo_44

Winnipeg (and yes, you can get a player from Jets v1.0): Nothing here really jumps out at me. I was trying to think if they had a really good goon back in the day. I guess I'll go with Hawerchuk here. Definitely not Tkachuk - that's for sure.
Calgary: Tempting to go Gilmour, but Lanny McDonald is the right decision here. Also considered Al MacInnis.
Edmonton: the obvious one is Gretzky, of course. A Paul Coffey would be cool.
Vancouver: Lots of interesting choices here. A Richard Brodeur would be cool - my brother was at the game where he got his ear ripped off at MLG. But I think I'm going to go with Trevor Linden here - total hockey player.
Bonus: Quebec Nordiques: many will be tempted by Sakic or Sundin, but it's gotta be Dale Hunter.

Against MTL he was cross checked twice hard by two different players in the final 2 mins.
He favoured his back, made some comments about it after. |

Yeah, unless it's a pulled muscle due to a lack of warm-up (which I cannot imagine happening to a pro athlete), no amount of conditioning is going to help that in a contact sport no less. - gravyface
I agree, I am more referring to that specifically was called out during an article that was written abiut it.
If this injury is indeed because of the cross checks that is very annoying |

I hope so too, even a minor back injury can be complicated...it can drag on even after it seems fine.
Luckily they have the best of the best taking care of them. |

Agreed , we can hope. Unfortunately we're playing Edmonton where our depth actually matters.
The leafs are fairly deep, hopefully they respond |

I'll play!
Toronto: Doug Gilmour, no question. Favorite Leafs player ever.
Ottawa: I'll go Chabot, if only because I don't hate him yet and he's gonna be amazing.
Winnipeg: Teemu Selanne! Can't go wrong there. Best rookie ever.
Calgary: Jarome Iginla. Probably represents the flames better than anyone.
Vancouver: Despite the temptation to buy a Messier jersey to (frank) with them, I'd go with a Pavel Bure jersey.
Edmonton: I don't remember Gretzky with the Oilers so I'd pass on him.... McDavid would also be a "boring" choice so I'll go with Bill Ranford.
Bonus: Quebec: Joe Sakic, without hesitation.

I'll play!
Toronto: Sundin: I wanted him to get a cup so bad.
Ottawa: Chara: Would be like having his rookie card, respect him for his game over the years, minus a few
Winnipeg: Teemu Selanne! Can't go wrong there. Best rookie ever.
Calgary: Theo Fleury: I feel asleep as a kid to peter mahar and doug barkley calling games. Fluery was one of my favorite growing up, Al McInnis a close second
Vancouver: Bure: the guy was a wizard, nedved would be cool too.
Edmonton: I was a fan of Paul Coffee, man was he fun to watch
Bonus: Quebec: Joe Sakic for the same reasons as Chara. - Scabeh

Ugh.
Montreal: Has to be Lafleur. Although my favourite Hab is still probably Racicot.
Ottawa: Alfredsson. My favourite Sen . . . Bonk or Sidorkiewicz. God they sucked.
Winnipeg: Hawerchuck. I always did like Roenick, but it's really no contest.
Calgary: Nieuwendyk. Roberts would be the close second.
Edmonton: Gretzky. Coffey would be my second.
Vancouver: Bure.
Quebec: Forsberg.
Toronto: Gilmour. No. Clark. No. Palmateer. No. Sittler. THE PASSION THAT UNITES US ALL IS TEARING ME APART!
