Wel; if you are going to get rid of Strome because he is not Stanley Cup talent level, you have to get rid of every Hawk not named Kane, and that includes Dach because he hasn't proven he is Stanley Cup level yet. He might be, but as of today, no, because Dach would not be top 6 in Tampa either, as a matter of fact, he might not have played a game in the pro's as of yet if he was on Tampa.

Really? C'mon man. I didn't say he has to be that level today to keep. Does he project there in the next few years? I say no, others think he might and it is worth waiting to see. The downside to waiting is that his value drops to nothing if he doesn't cut it.

I promise you that if they keep him and he doesn't pan out, people will be here whining that Stan shoulda had the foresight to trade him while he still had some value. That's what the Gm's job is.

Is he playing tonight? All reports I saw said it was the same lineup as the last game.

GOALTENDER CHANGE TONIGHT VS DETROIT
Was Delia listed; now Laakinen (source SCORE app)

Detroit has some talented forwards. Wondering how they kept SOG down with that defense:

M Staal
Merrill
DeKeyser
Nemeth who 2010 #2 round 41rst
Stecher
Hronek who 2016 #2 round 53rd

Cagey veterans Filipula, F Neilsen, Gagner,

New kids Larkin, Bertuzzi, Mantha, Zadina & Rasmussen are first round picks

For good measure: Glendenning, Namestnkov, Abdelkader is an unrestricted UFA

Just pedestrian AVG can play well though Goaltending: Greise tonight; also Bernier. J Howard is a FA basicly has retired playing men's league in case he signs somewhere for another pro season

Mike Green, now on Edmonton. Long tenured dman had been with Detroit recently. Out with sprain knee

Seider I believe. Yeah, from what I've watched of him he's pretty impressive.

I am curious about Wise from BC in Hockey East League. Formerly was reknown as a natural goal scorer. Had injuries as collegiate. May have altered game. Now I believe Theo referred to him: #2 center on his team point producer could be a two way #3 NHL center. But I wonder someone like him......if he ever played with Kane intra squad and scored much, maybe he pans out different. Coaches say, let's see how he does with a top line. Theo: how is his skating? Will he battle in a scrum or throw a check

Has anyone seen K 'Andre Miller, 6-5" 210 #1 2018, dman NYR.

I know T Smith, smallish dman, amother #1 round, rookie dman playing well for NJ Devils.

Wondering if Kakko, Lafraniere, Hughes (NJ Devils) improved since rookie seadon

Wise is becoming more and more of a longshot but I would compare his game to Kurashev's, i.e. reliable in all zones, offensive skill, great vision, excellent skater. Perhaps better defensively than Kurashev.

The knock on Kurashev when he was drafted was he didn't push the pace enough but that really isn't an issue anymore as he has worked on that aspect of his game since draft day.

Wise has consistency issues too, but if given the chance at the pro level, he could possibly work that out like Kurashev did.

While he was projected to be a 2C when drafted, Wise likely tops out as a 3C if he makes it to the pros and to the NHL. He's a long-term project either way (best case scenario would still be 4 years away).

Wise and Moberg two disappointments. But there is time still. Look at examples of players who progressed, there are always a few. Now I am more tuned to Soderlund and Barret. Altybarmaker dude from Russia t.oo.

If there's a "next Victor Hedman" then Moritz Seider would be a prime candidate. Huge stature, physical, skates well, gifted offensively, solid defensively.

In all of the Hogs-Griffins games last season, Seider was by far one of the best players (if not the best) in each game.

Many laughed at the Wings for drafting him 6th overall in 2019 but the Wings may have a great one to be their #1 defenseman.

Reichel's goals and assists are a result of hard work and courageous play. As a slender teen playing in a men's league, he's always buzzing around the crease and corners.

Also, he's willing to take a hit to make a play and is resilient as heck bouncing back quickly to stay in the play.

The thing with Reichel is he may not electrify or make eye-popping moves but he's smart, fearless, and competitive.

Many of his assists haven't been off of passes of the tape-to-tape variety but more so just freeing up the puck for a teammate to swoop in for the goal.

My sense from canvassing sources tonight, Columbus is closing in on a trade involving Pierre Luc Dubois. It’s a complicated process that could be resolved as early as tomorrow. Teams have been told they’re out. Hard to say who’s in, but it’s believed Winnipeg is among them.

Pierre LeBrun speculates that Laine and Roslovic are to be in the deal for Dubois.

Crowd is strangely quiet during the Hawk introductions.

Must be nervous anticipation of this big game with Detroit.

Didn’t you see Seabrook waving to the fans in the stands?

And good to see that Cornellison has lost none of his pomposity.

We were told that all the fans at home should remove their hats: who sitting at home is wearing a hat?
