Probably a 2nd round pick with conditions. Either around how far we make it in playoffs or if he re signs. If we want them to take a contract back you're probably also looking at a non top prospect. - Tfaehner
Right now, I seriously doubt you could get him for a 2nd round pick. They can get more at the deadline.

Doesn't matter what I think. What I think would be my opinion and not a fact. You insinuated that Vigneault is not a competent coach. That is not correct. - MJL
Answer the question.
Yes putting Laughton out with Giroux is incompetence. What other word would you use to describe it? |

I'm not trying to describe that decision. I'm trying to describe your opinions. Which are consistently absurd. |

You might be right. We have no idea how this strange years deadline is going to work with covid protocol etc. Players could be 10x more expensive or they might be cheaper with lack of buyers or cap space. Theres no playbook to it. |

We already see GM's smartly using the taxi squad to conserve and bank cap space.
Also haven't mentioned how the Flyers fit Savard in cap wise? |

That is your opinion. Thanks for sharing.
So saying the coach playing Laughton with Giroux was incompetence was absurd. Understood. What would you call it?

Any thoughts on Freidman's play before his injury? |

3rd in the league standings with plenty of opportunity to improve. I’ll take it. |

To a point. You can only manipulate so much. And the border protocols for Canada limit opportunities for some. Again I dont know if you're right or wrong. But I think there will be opportunities for the team to upgrade if we chose. And I think it'd be worth it. If you can circumvent the expansion draft we absolutely could use an upgrade on D. |

Spectacularly unnoticeable. Which i thought was a good thing with our D. |

It's nice that the Flyers have the record that they do. It won't continue if they keep playing like this, especially 5 on 5. Take that to the bank. They have to clean this up fast or it will go south on them in a hurry. |

There is no doubt there is a need. I just think you have to balance the need with the cost and the projected level of upgrade. A team is not going to give away a solid veteran RH defenseman. Trading him for a 2nd rounder boarders on that.

The thing I noticed most is that he looks really short. If he was 6' would people be more excited by him? AV seems to have confidence in him |

Would really like to see him get a legit chance to what he can do. Seems the coach likes Larry, Moe, and Curly better. |

Sure, as noted above, they look good in the standings now, but overall their play has been sub-par thus far. There is plenty of room for improvement. I guess that's the silver lining but they really need to start working on that. |

Right now if I'm Columbus, I'm asking for a 1st round pick or a solid NHL roster player. |

If its the same as last expansion ufa are not eligible to be selected. As long as a team has the required amount of players exposed its a non issue. We do have enough signed contracts to expose as needed.
Laughton and Savard (ill keep speaking it into existence) would not have to be protected.
Leaves jake or jvr for your final spot. Anyone who says the contract will protect them is flat out wrong. A new franchise would love to grab either of these guys imo. - Tfaehner
You are saying that Seattle would love to grab Jake V at $8.25M for 3 seasons? Or they would want a player like JVR for $7M for two seasons? I think you are delusional if you think so, but hey, if the Seattle GM is that dumb, leave them exposed and consider yourself lucky.

That was the most putrid 3 shootout attempts by the Flyers I have ever watched. It looked to me like they just wanted to get back to the room.

It’s got to be a little more than that, franking #3 overall and is a pretty good player. I guess the solid nhl player could work, somebody with term, but it depends what type of player falls under solid. |

Team speed is not the issue for this team. - MJL
You cannot be serious, can you? Do you actually watch the games, or just read the box score in the morning? This team is astonishingly slow, they are constantly behind the play and chasing the puck. The Bruins were skating circles around the Flyers for most of the game, until the OT where I will give you the Flyers had the better of the play. You yourself has correctly mentioned the poor puck possession numbers this year, why do you think that is? When you are constantly chasing the puck, you don't have the puck, hence low possession numbers. |

I didn’t mind Gs attempt, voracek has been doing the same move for a long time, swing wide and either go high glove/wait it out/ or backhand . TK, awful. |

We were talking about Savard not PLD. Dubois doesn't fix any of our issues. Especially not after being benched for coasting through shifts with no compete. |

Yes I do. Contracts may not be great but they are good players. With a team who has to hit a cap floor and a lack of perceived scoring out there for them to take I think they'd love to grab either. And if it was Jake I'd expect a letter on his jersey too. |
