I doubt it, they needed another top center behind Schefie (can't spell)

Although it will hurt them this year, he can't play for 14 days due to the quarantine rules of crossing the border

- TPC

True, Lowry and Copp both seem like solid bottom 6 centers but Stastny was supposed to be their #2. Wonder how that all works out.

2 weeks in this season is a huge deal! No time to develop chemistry either.

On to Plan B(arkov).
- Fenrir

Is this honestly an option? I haven't seen any rumors that he wants out. I know the one poster on here really wants him but I don't see the Panthers trading their top line and franchise player anytime soon

Just seems like a huge waste of time to hope for.

Well I can’t argue that we didn’t get more involved, topping Laine and Roslovic would have been too much for us to risk

Well if Barkov makes it to UFA at least it will only cost money and we could move assets for other holes

I’m thinking more Rakell, Barkov would be asking for more than what Dubois got and I don’t k ow why Florida would even be thinking about trading him

Yea I don't see them trading him.

I just want Strome gone so bad. Chytill looks good maybe he can try that 2C spot. But they still need another center at some point for either the 2/3 role

Its not that Barkov wants out. The problem for Florida is can they afford to give Barkov the 10-11m per year contract he deserves. After this financial crapstorm, I highly doubt it.

Also, Barkov is too much of a professional to do what PLD did and tell the GM he doesnt want to play for the team anymore.

Since when has this board NOT been about wasting time with wishful thinking about free agents?
Well, Sepan, Artie and Dubi are free agents after the season.

Zib is coming up for a contract too. So if you sign Barkov, I can't see signing Zib for what he will command.

Well, hopefully by 2023, things normalize with the sport, hopefully getting a little bump in the salary cap. I think it might be possible to have both.
