It's looking like Brodie is the only addition made this offseason by the Leafs that will be any sort of contributor.. |

I'm glad it only took 5 games for that to be proven. |

They need to get Sandin into some games.
Maybe Joey Anderson can bring some energy also. |

Quarantine isn't supposed to be a punishment - it's supposed to be a mitigation strategy to reduce the spread of Covid. It makes no sense for four people who sit on the same bench every game, who practice together, and who hug each other after goals to go into quarantine for spending time together away from the rink.
If the league or team wants to suspend them as punishment for breaking rules - by all means do that. But I maintain that this "Quarantine" makes no sense. - Leafs43
correctamundo.
thank you for thinking logically.
if we're going to be 'rules are rules' then first tell my why professional sports should have an exception over other professions.
a lot of things are a grey area - and the rule for players not being able to spend time with eachother away from the rink is just plain stupid.
putting into place stupid rules is worse then not following stupid rules. |

Brodie isn't great.
I get that Dubas wanted to add 'someone' after the failed Barrie experiment -- but Brodie definitely isn't the answer.
The trade option (Nylander) still is the most obvious way to address Leafs' defensive problems -- but Dubas seems more stubborn than Babcock. |

Love Torts.
The only one that is getting hurt by this situation is Dubois -- GMs will think twice before trading for a cinderalla that is not willing to put in some efforts when things don't go as 'Mr. Star' want them to go - seems he's not the best teammate there..
Anyone criticizing Tortorella there doesn't want their team to win. |

He's one of the last of a dying breed for sure.
Im not sure you need to be like Torts to be successful anymore. Players have too much say now, they'll just get their agents involved. But you're right about Dubois being the most affected by his Nylanderish play, probably half the GM's out there would likely pass on him. His agent is probably pissed, especially after only signing a bridge deal. |

Torts is retaining control of his team. At this point it's almost more of a message to the rest of the players that he is in charge, not the players. They may not like it, but that's his job, frankly. |

No, right now! I think this is the first time Torts has ever benched anyone. He needs to be moved. |

The comparisons of Dubois and Nylander are more outdated narrative. Talk to me when Dubois leads the National Hockey League in goals from the paint. |

I'd rather keep Willie the floater than trading him for Dubois.
Torts isn't pull such a move unless he's absolutely sure management and rest of the players understand benching Dubois is better for the team.
Dubois should go to Arizona, Ottawa, Sabres, Carolina or some other failed franchise. |
